Welcome to the new site of THIJS JACOBS, born in 1978 (Geleen, The Netherlands).

I started playing guitar when I was about 15 or 16 years old, and now it is my profession and forever passion! I recorded some nice CD's recently. Some can be labelled as Jazz, others as Pop, some nice blues stuff and God doesn't even know what he should call the rest of it...(just kidding).

My main interests are BLUES!!!,fusion, pop, funk, country, jazz and even dance music.

I play Melancon,  Blade and fender  guitars mainly and use Ernst Fliek amps exlusively  for my amplification.(visit www.ernstamps.com) I use the Rover (preamp) and the Traveller (Power amp).Just recently Ernst modified the amp for me. Sounds Nice!!

I use John Suhr pickups now..They sound really good! John Suhr built guitars for Mark Knopfler and Scott Henderson for instance...Also I am trying out the pickups that Ben Trevillian from truetonetechnologies has custom-wound for me!

I use the TC electronics G-FORCE (19 inch) mainly in my live and studio setup but also sometimes:Roland SRV3030D Reverb (19inch) Line6 (delay and filter modeller), TC chorus/flanger, H&K TubeFactor, Qtron, TalkBox, Vox Wah, The Real Mc Coy Picture Wah, a Maxon OD808 reissue, the E-bow and some other stuff....

At the time I am studying Jazz Guitar at the "Conservatorium van Amsterdam" in The Netherlands in order to educate myself to the upmost standard. Don t know when I am going to graduate: I have a stupid injury that holds me back a bit..Luckily I am getting some treatment now!!
