As a PSI NetWork UniNet Participant you will endorse the following components of the Planet Share Information NetWork as important elements to elevate the quality of life for all Life Forms.
1. Community Empowerment - Enhance the ability of grassroots level community groups to plan and develop strategies to reduce environmental risk factors in their community. Community is used to mean a geographic target area, an ethnic/cultural group or special needs group (HIV/AIDS seropositive, sight/hearing impaired, developmentally disabled, physically disabled, etc.)
2. Leadership Enhancement - Youth andAadult leaders among the target group populations will be identified and provided with the resources to develop and enhance their leadership abilities enabling the elevation of their own life and to present as a role model to others.
3. Service
Systems Coordination - Shift the emphasis
among service providers within service systems to concept of response to
client established needs. Instead of individual service systems establishing
goals independent of one another and the target population, the target
groups will establish goals to which the service systems will design coordinated
responses. The goal in this component is to use available but limited
resources to address locally established priorities to the extent possible.
We will work to bridge the digital divide, enabling grass root organizations
the ability to become "techno-ready".
To reiterate the words
of former President Clinton:
"Together we have
the power to determine exactly what we want the Internet to become... to
be an instrument of empowerment, education, enlightenment, economic advance
and community-building all across America, regardless of the race, the
income, the geography of our citizens."
4. International Sociological Association of North America and South America Coalition/Godsend Foundation/God's Universalist Life Church Ministries - The International and National Coalition will build upon the foundation provided by the Master Plan Task Force formed in 1984. This group will incorporate members of the Planet Share Information NetWork UniNet Advisory Boards, Service Providers, Volunteers, Government and Business Community.
Each member brings
its resources to be used by the UniNet Strategic Partnership.
International Sociological
Association of North America and South America will provide direction
and oversight to the coalition. The Godsend Foundation will
maintain primary responsibility for the Intellectual Exchange, and Social
Intercourse goals of the project.
