Skills |
things. Now lets set the stage, the system is 'skill' based. The current skills are Piloting, Engineering, Science, Medicine and Mechanics.
I will now give you a brief description of the skills...
- Piloting- Determines how well you can pilot your mobile suit, the more experience you gain in this category the better you get. Also the better of a pilot you are the more advanced types of mobile weapons you can pilot (ie. mobile armors, gundams etc.)
- Engineering- The engineer is able to design mobile weapons based on the technologies researched by scientists. They can also oversee the construction of structures to increase the speed at which they are constructed.
- Science- The scientist spends countless hours in his laboratory researching new technology or designing new things that use that technology. As the scientist gets more experienced he can research new technologies.
- Medicine- The higher your level of medicine you have the faster you can treat (heal) others and treat (heal) yourself. Higher medicine later will allow for medical research (i might just unleash some of the Black Death or Ebola Virus mwua ha ha).
- Mechanics- The greasemonkey learns to repair and maintain mobile weapons. As he gets better he can repair new types of mobile weapons. While most bases can repair regular mobile suits, Mechanics are needed to repair Gundams, Mobile Armors and other special types.
Levels
Levels are simply an easy way of refering to someone with a certain amount of experience...
- 1 exp - Level 1
- 25 exp - Level 2
- 50 exp - Level 3
- 75 exp - Level 4
- 100 exp - Level 5
- 150 exp - Level 6
- 200 exp - Level 7
- 250 exp - Level 8
- 300 exp - Level 9
- 350 exp - Level 10
How do you get experience?
Pilots are able to gain experience through either training in flight simulators or actually pilotting in a real battle. After a battle, the pilot will gain anywhere from 2 - 10 experience points, which depends on how well they fought. The amount given is determined by the battlewriter. Pilots also gain 1 experience point for every day they use a flight simulator. This can only be done up to a maximum of 10 experience points.
Engineers are able to gain experience through the overseeing of consruction or the designing of spacecraft, vehicles and mobile weapons. Engineers can 2 experience / day for the overseeing of construction. Engineers also gain 6 experience points for the design of a Mobile Weapon, 10 exp points for the design of a spacecraft. Engineers can also take courses at Universities that will strength their skills in their field.
Scientists are able to gain experience through the research of existing technologies and even research into new ones (that they theorized about). Scientists gain 4 experience points for researching technologies levels 1 - 3, 5 experience points for researching levels 4 - 6, and 6 experience points for researching levels 7 - 9. 8 experience points are rewarded for researching level 10. Scientists also gain 10 experience points for a successful theory (must be approved by Strife). Scientists can also take courses at Universities that will strength their skills in their field and grant them access to new technologies.
Mechanics are able to gain experience through the repair of mobile weapons, spacecraft and other vehicles. They gain 1 experience / day for the repair of a mobile weapon or vehicle. They gain 1 experience / day + a 2 exp point bonus at the end for the repair of a spacecraft. The repair of Gundams and Mobile weapons gives them 1 experience/ day + a 3 exp point bonus at the end. Mechanics can also take courses at Universities that will strength their skills in their field.
Doctors are able to gain experience through medical research and the healing of players. Doctors gain 1 experience point / day for the healing of a character. They gain 4 experience points for research levels 1 - 3 medical technology, 5 experience points for levels 1 - 6, 6 experience points for 7 - 9 and 8 experience points for level 10. Doctors also gain 10 experience points for a successful medical theory (must be approved by Strife). Doctors can also take courses at Universities that will strength their skills in their field.
What can you do with experience?
Pilots: For the pilot, more experience allows them to pilot new types of mobile weapons, vehicles and spacecraft.
Pilotting Exp. Requirements:
- 10 exp - Access to Mobile Suits, Small spacecraft (fighters, bombers)
- 25 exp - Access to Large spacecraft (Battleships, destroyers)
- 50 exp - Access to Variable Suits
- 75 exp - Access to Small Mobile Armors
- 100 exp - Access to more powerful Mobile Suits
- 150 exp - Access to Large Mobile Armors
Note: More Powerful Mobile Suits includes any MS with any of the four stats (Power/Speed/Armor/Manueverability) above 150. (These suits are considered, 'Gundams')
Engineers: For the engineer, more experience opens up new structures, mobile weapons, vehicles and spacecraft that they can design.
Overseeing / Designing Exp Requirements:
- 1 exp - Oversee Military Base, Design Training Suits, Mining Suits,
- 25 exp - Design Mobile Suits, Small spacecraft
