The next day at school, during fencing class, Heero is being hassled by another student for ripping up Relena's invitation. Heero then surprises all by neatly defeating the young aristocrat.
Meanwhile, the Marina continues their salvage operation to retrieve the unknown Gundam. Zechs offers the Marina officer in charge of the operation two underwater mobile suits, Pieces and Cancer in exchange for a place to "repair" their submarine. In reality, it is just an excuse to get closer to getting their hands on the Gundam.

Back at the academy, before horse riding courses, Heero shows off. After this, he proceeds to his room to retrieve Alliance military data on the recovery of his Mobile Suit from the colonies, and to hack into the mainframe of the school and embezzle money to redistribute in his favor.

While Relena heads to her party, she realizes why Heero wants to kill her-she knows his secret identity, that of an assassin of the colonies! At this time, Heero is at the Alliance marina base, sabotaging a group of cluster bombs that are to be loaded on a ship bound for the Gundam retrieval area, with the hopes of destroying his Gundam.

As the Alliance search for the Gundam, Zechs and his Oz officers locate it on the radar. Leaving the retrieval of the object to his subordinate on the submarine, the Pieces and Cancer are sent out into the murky ocean. As they approach the site, a group of Marina mobile suits are dispatched from the nearby cruisers. Suddenly, an explosion is heard. As soon as the Alliance suits appear on the radar, they disappear as they are systematically destroyed by a Gundam. Confused, the Alliance Captain in charge fires torpedoes into the fray, disregarding Zechs safety. The torpedoes do not destroy the Gundam, however, and it surfaces, destroying the entire alliance armada with a few swipes from it's mighty scythe.

At Relena's birthday party, she addresses the crowd, saying she has never been so happy. Defense Minister Dorland sadly informs Relena that he will not be able to stay, as he has business to attend to in the colonies. Relena takes this news well, saying she understands the importance of her father's role to the Alliance, and she bids him a safe trip. While she kisses him, he accidentally drops some papers he was carrying in his briefcase, which are on the subject of Operation Meteor. The radio then blares out the news that the 5 meteors that fell into the atmosphere then previous day burned up in the atmosphere, contrary to the popular belief that they were manned spacecraft. Relena realizes this to be a lie, as she realizes Heero was in one of them. She wonders if Heero is a little prince.

The scene then cuts to Heero (driving a stolen ambulance) passing a student from the academy heading to Relena's party. The student, however, believes it impossible that Heero could be driving an ambulance and dismisses it as his eyes playing tricks on him.

Meanwhile, at a circus, one of the 5 Gundam pilots (Trowa Barton) applies for a job there despite the fact that he has no background information to supply. He then walks up to a flustered lion, and quiets him with his calm demeanor. This impresses a nearby performer. The scene then pans to show Trowa's hidden Gundam, Heavyarms, hidden in the woods outside the performance.

On the other side of Earth, near the Arabian peninsula, at a sheltered oasis, Quatre Winner is shown speaking of the beauty of Earth, and pondering whether animals comprehend beauty, while his camouflaged Gundam sits outside.

Near China, Wufei Chang is introduced, buying large amounts of explosives and a supply truck from a local militia of the area. Wufei's Gundam is then shown, hidden just under the shallow surface of a nearby river.

Back at Relena's party, the student who passed Heero earlier informs Relena of his tardiness and bids her happy birthday. Noticing that Heero is not present, he comments on his earlier encounter with the mysterious young boy. He realizes this must have been Heero. Relena realizes this is Heero, as he was driving the stolen ambulance from their first encounter. She flees the party, hoping to catch Heero at the military port, as that is where the coastal road where Heero was spotted leads to. She tells them to continue the party without her, and turns down her friends offers to drive her to the port, telling them she will be back in a few minutes. Her friends wonder what got into her, as she ponders who Heero might be intending to kill or what he will destroy.

Back at the crash site, the Cancer and Pieces spot Zech's abandoned Leo, but no Gundam. However, after looking farther on, they find it. Informing Zechs of the discovery, they also comment on how odd it is that the Gundam doesn't have a single scratch on it, plus the metal it is made out of didn't show up on their read-outs. Lieutenant Zechs tell them to watch out for the current, and that the submarine will await the return of the recovery team at it's present location.

As they prepare to return with it, however, an alarm sounds. With it comes a flash grenade-and another Gundam! This new Gundam tears apart the Pieces with it's scythe before they even realize what is happening. The pilot of the Cancer is trying to figure out how he can use a thermal energy weapon underwater when he engages the Gundam in battle. He charges the Gundam, locking it is the tight grip of it's claw-like appendages, and fires chain guns and rockets at it. The Gundam drops it's scythe and is thrown backwards. The pilot reports his victory to the nearby Oz submarine, but just as he does so, the Gundam fires a wrist-borne missle at it, destroying it.

Approaching the suit, the pilot hears the alarm of the self-destruct mechanism. Not one to waste Gundams, the pilot (Duo Maxwell), turns off the mechanism, commenting it is identical to his in every way. He then takes it with him as he returns to land, deciding to use it as a back-up.

Back at the Alliance base, alarms sound as explosions rock the hangar area. Relena arrives at the bases' perimeter just as they start. During the confusing that ensues, Heero heads to the submarine docks to try to nab a suitable ship to launch torpedoes to destroy his Gundam. Relena finds Heero on one of the submarines, and approaches him, wondering what he is going to do with the torpedoes he is loading onto the vessel. Heero then tells Relena she is "in over her head" because she knows too much about him. He then points a gun at her, and just as he is about to pull the trigger, one of the Gundam pilots (Duo) comes to her rescue, shooting Heero in the right arm.

Heero collapses, asking the shooter of his identity. He replies to Heero that "it is pretty obvious that you [Heero] are the bad guy here". He then asks Relena if she is all right, and she responds by asking Heero if he is all right. Heero then dives for his weapon, and he shoots the gun away from him.

Just as Duo is about to shoot Heero again, Relena gets in the path of the gun, asking Duo why he shot at Heero. Duo wonders how he is the bad guy in the situation, considering the fact he just saved her life. Relena then dresses Heero's wound, and then Deathscythe appears, towing Wing Gundam. Relena is then told by Duo that she should just "walk away", so she doesn't get involved in anything too secretive. Heero uses this diversion to leap on a torpedo rack and fire them [the 3 torpedoes] at the oncoming Gundams. They are shot without a hitch, and Heero leaps off of them, passing out as he falls into the bay, mission accomplished. The Gundams then sink to the bottom of the harbor. Duo then realizes that the kid is the pilot, because he knew the impact tolerance of the Gundanium.

The scene then cuts to Zechs, still waiting for the recovery team in the sub. He then receives a report that both the Pieces and Cancer were destroyed, by another Gundam, most likely. Zechs then broods over the truth to the saying that one who sees a Gundam most likely will not come out alive, hoping it doesn't come true..
