=Radio Procedures |
These procedures will be used at all times while flying missions online with the Misfits. Please review them carefully.
1) ALWAYS review the mission card for any mission flown. This card states all callsigns for each flight and package within the mission. All Warhawks pilots are to refer to themselves as their respective callsign. (For example, if pilot A and pilot B were to fly in the same flight, and their lineup card stated that their callsign was "Raven", they would refer to themselves as their respective position within Raven flight. So, if pilot A were flight lead, and pilot B were element lead, pilot A would refer to himself as "Raven 1" and pilot B would refer to himself as "Raven 3".) They are NOT to use their online callsign names.
2) Always START any transmission with your flight callsign. "Raven 1, Fox 3!", or "Raven 1, damage to left engine.."... etc. If you are giving orders or requesting information from another flight member, give your callsign first, then theirs, and then your request... ie, "Raven 1, Raven 2 say state, over...", etc.
3) Complete ANY query for information from any flight member with "OVER"! This indicates that a reply is requested. If you are not requesting information, just stating a function or change in flight profile, do NOT say "over" when transmitting.
4) Always allow for a 3 to 4 second pause before answering a radio transmission. Also, whenever flight lead requests information from the entire flight (ie, "Raven flight, say status, over.."), pilots are required to answer in FLIGHT ORDER... from #2 to #3, then #4, etc.
5) During a mission, keep all radio chatter to a minimum! This is especially true during Operations and Patrol missions. Radio chatter from other flights, AWACS, Tower, and flight members will be overwhelming enough without unecessary chatter making it more difficult to hear.
6) Even though the sim reflects when a pilot launches a missile with a radio message, all pilots are required to echo that message with a voice message of their own ( "Raven 3, Fox 2!"). This is to alert all flight members that missiles are in the air, and to watch their SA closely.
