Another old favourite Peps Person & Blues Transfusion is also performing at the Water Festival so I have to take some days off I think.

Some years ago I stumbled into a smoky and sweaty club in Oslo where some Texas bluesrocker was supposed to play that evening. I was only there for the beer, but the atmosphere was nice and I decided to stay for a few more beers. Eventually the guy turned up with his band, and I say, it was really swinging. It was a very happy Gunnar who left at about 2 o'clock that night.

The guy's name was Mason Ruffner.

When he returned to Oslo about a year later, I persuaded some of my friends to go down to the Cruise Café to hear him perform. None of them had ever heard of him, so they were a bit reluctant at first, but I promised them their money back if they didn't like it. As it turned out, I didn't have to. So if he comes to a club near you, don't miss it! In the meantime you can check out his homepage.
