![]() big toys for big boys Flying and Aviation is one of my main interests. I have worked as a professional in Aviation for more than 15 years, so one should think that I am pissed off with aircraft. But I am one of the lucky few who has one of my main interests and hobby as a profession.
I am a great fan of old aeroplanes and warbirds and I'm lucky enough to have some friends in the Old Flying Machine Company located at Duxford, England which I pay a visit from time to time. If you would like to read what OFMC pilot Mark Linney has to say about flying the MIG 15 click Flying the MiG 15. For those really interested, they have a links page with links to many interesting sites. From time to time I also have the pleasure of being the engine starter, navigator and co-pilot on a de Havilland DH-82 Tiger Moth. The meaning of the word FLYING become obvious in a Moth. A bit involved in the Warbird scene here in Norway, where I am glad to say that I was participating strongly in getting the first privately owned jet fighter in Norway airborne. I personally signed the DeHavilland DH-100 Vampire's first Permit to Fly and watched it on it's first flight on the civilian register. It was an exiting moment! The most beautiful
aircraft I know is the Supermarine Spitfire. "If it
looks I have made a page dedicated to the Spitfire which contains an article about how it is to fly this beautiful machine, some technical information, pictures and and interesting link to the german fighter ace Adolf Galland. Visit my Spitfire page! And to be fair, I have also made a page about the most famous German fighter in WW2, the Messerschmitt bf109! althought I regard the Focke Wulf 190 as the better fighter. Maybe the best fighter aeroplane in WW2. |
