Current Squadron Assignments

NJG88 Assignments are based on what the Luftwaffe termed a ketten formation. A ketten is group of 3 pilots, trained to tactfactully, and strategically fly with each other. Each member of the ketten considered it his duty to learn the strength's and weakness of each of the members he flew with regularly. With this familiarization complete they flew as one unit or team in combat. Later during World War II, the Luftwaffe changed to the more familiar schwarme formation, which consisted of 4 pilots flying together as a unit. For our squadrons purposes, we have found that 3 is an ideal wingman setup for most of our online wars or battles, and have decided to bring back the "old" ketten formation style. All our ketten formations are listed in order (Left to Right), with the over all flight leader for each ketten is listed in red.
