Three hours, but doesn't seem to be that long. Delightful, if somewhat lightweight. If nothing else it is a positive message of good will... Aww...

Loser star.jpg (758 bytes)star.jpg (758 bytes)star.jpg (758 bytes)star.jpg (758 bytes) (4 stars) One of those pleasant comedies with an ending that makes you go "Awww! Wasn't that sweet". The performances are very good and director Amy Heckling (Clueless) shows once again she is in touch with the youth of today. It's a clever movie, that doesn't give an easy way to fit in with peers, but rather an answer of how you can learn to be yourself. Interesting to note that the word loser is never mentioned throughout the entire film...

Half of this score belongs to John Woo's direction. The rest is given to the inadequate and unsatisfying script. A lot of big bang boom action, which is handled excellently, but it just adds up to less than its parts. See it for Thandie Newton, or Tom if you are that way inclined...
