Shown on BBC2 - review and summary below.

Neil Pearson of Drop The Dead Donkey fame reminds viewers of the charms of classic movie, Some Like It Hot.

With a cast from heaven and a storyline guaranteed to have cinema goers flocking to the theatres, the movie was a gargantuan success, and is still revered.

For anyone unfamiliar with the madcap storyline, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon become infatuated with Marilyn Monroe.

They decide that the best way to go about getting close to her is to dress up as women, join a dance troupe and support her on stage as she sings her way around the hotels.

Totally absurd, unbelievable and a huge smash hit.

Neil Pearson gives an entertaining account of the film's enduring and endearing qualities.

He looks at its incomparable cast, and the fact that two of the biggest male stars in the world spend most of the film dressed as women.

Then, of course, there's the overpowering allure of Marilyn Monroe, still considered as the epitome of blonde beauty.

She was also, of course, the woman who captured the heart of John and Bobby Kennedy before her tragic death from an overdose.
