THE MYSTERY QUILT
"The Case of the Flamingo Gathering"
From the desk of Chief Inspector La seam.......................
STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!         BEFORE YOU CUT out anything, please look here.  read the whole page before you begin any part of the Mystery Quilt .  You  just might have a favorite method that requires a different measurement than the ones I have given you for Clue #4.
I have decided to give yu a "Teaser Clue" before the Mystery and the retreat starts. I think this will give you all a head start on the investigation. (Now remember it is a mystery so "ya gotta talk the talk")
HINT:  You are making half square triangle units.
Some quilters like to cut their squares larger (Cut 4" square) sew together, press to the bold and then square them up to the 3 1/2" square - cut edge to cut edge.
Some like to make the half square triangles from "triangles on a roll" or "Thangles". Use the ones that are finished Size: 3" and follow the directions on the package. Or go to their websites for demos.

TEASER CLUE:  IF you have decided to cut the materials according to my measurements,  Remove Clue #4 fabrics from their baggie. On the wrong side of the lighter 3 7/8" squares draw a diagonal line witth a pencil. With right sides together, sew a Background square to a Bold Print square - sew a 1/4" away from both sides of the drawn line. Cut on drawn line and press to the Bold Print.
How ever you chose to make them, you need 32 finished half square triangle units constructed with the Bold Print and Background fabrics. Label them Part "C" and return them to the Clue #4 baggie.
Repeat:  That is 32 - cut edge to cut edge 3 1/2" half square triangles (finished size: 3" square ) ----- Go right ahead and get these 32 half square triangles made ahead of time
