Some information on Joe Torre

Mr. Joe Torre has got to be one of the best managers in the history of baseball. He has a great 17 year career and counting. Joe Torre started his career back in the 1960s as a catcher, moving to being a 3rd baseman in 1971. After being a 3rd baseman for so many years, he decided it was time for a change in his baseball career again, and going to become a manager for The Atlanta Braves in 1981. He led them until 1983. After his short stay with them, he then became a broadcaster for the Anaheim Angels from 1984-1989. In 1990, he returned to being a bench manager for The St. Louis Cardinals. However, after his stay there, he went on to becoming the manager for The New York Yankees in 1996, and helping them win the World Series Championship 4 times, in 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000.

Joe Torre is a nine time all star in his career, and growing. His 17 year career consists of .297 batting average, 2343 hits, 252 homeruns, and 1185 RBIs. He has played for The Milwaukee Brewers, The Atlanta Braves, The St. Louis, Cardinals, and The New York Mets, and of course now he is with the ulitmate team The New York Yankees.

The New York Yankees are very grateful to have him as a manager, and as a friend, as you always hear them praising him on all of the wonderful things he does for the team. He is a great addition to them, and I hope he is with them for years to come.
