Musical Safari provides musical experiences that nurture the total development of children from birth to school age and beyond. Research has shown that consistent musical experiences during the formative years of a child’s development positively impact a myriad of life skills. Through movement and instrument play activities, development is cultivated in skill areas such as: music understanding, cognitive and language development, social skills, and motor awareness.

   We welcome you and your children to our Safari, where we are embarking on a journey of musical growth for a life-long love of music!

Classes offered:

These classes are designed for parents & children aged 6 months to 5 years. They are structured to foster the development of social skills (such as turn-taking), motor skills, cognitive skills, and basic music skills. Have fun interacting with your children through dancing, singing, and instrument play! Classes are offered throughout the year and curriculum changes developmentally and seasonally...

Other offerings:

Private music therapy services are available for children with special needs. Sessions are scheduled by appointment. You will be billed monthly for services and payment is due at the first session of each month. The cost is $30/half-hour.

Piano lessons are available for children ages 6+. Lessons are scheduled by appointment. You will be billed monthly for services and payment is due at the first lesson of each month. The cost is $15 for a 30-minute weekly lesson plus the cost of books.

Birthday parties are scheduled throughout the year on Saturdays only. Payment is due upon reservation of the date. A Safari Party is $150 for a 60-minute experience. We can accommodate up to 10 children. All adults are welcome, but we ask that there are at least 2 adults present. Children will participate in a 30-minute music class and make a musical instrument to take home. Each child will also receive a Musical Safari T-shirt and a free pizza at Broadway Pizza. The studio calendar consists of a seasonal 

cycle of early childhood music classes.

- Winter 2003:           Cost: $88.00  

(January 13, 2003 - March 15, 2003,  Skip  February 10- February 15)

Early Bird Deadline - December , 15, 2002

- Spring 2003:          Cost: $66.00

(March 31, 2003 - May 17, 2003, Skip April 14 - April 20)

Early Bird Deadline - March 1, 2003

- Summer 2003:      Cost: $66.00

(June 16, 2003 - August 1, 2003, Skip June 30 - July 5)

Early Bird Deadline - May 15, 2003

* There will be no evening or Saturday classes during summer session - weekdays only

Our class fees are for 1 child/1 parent. We understand that you may not always be able to find childcare for children not registered for a class. You have several options available to you: 1. When you enroll one child, a sibling receives a 50% discount on tuition for the class of your choice in the same quarter . 2. You may bring additional children to class without registering them, but we reserve the right to assess a $7 fee per child per visit.

Meet the teachers:

Jennifer is a board-certified music therapist and a graduate of Augsburg College. She worked for Independent School District 196 for 5 years within the special education department. In 1997, Jennifer founded the “Little Music Makers” series through ISD 196’s community education division. These classes provided developmental music experiences for children birth to five years. Jennifer is certified to teach the Musikgarten curriculum and uses this curriculum to supplement lesson planning.

Danielle Archambault, MT-BC

Danielle is also a board-certified music therapist and a graduate of the University of Minnesota. She developed a music therapy program for the special education department of Edina Public Schools. In 1999, Danielle teamed up with Jennifer to teach classes in the “Little Music Makers” series. For the past several years, Danielle has taught piano lessons privately in her home. She is also certified to teach the Musikgarten curriculum.
