Chapter 4:
"Inoshishimusha"
Trunks turned and looked at the twins. "Who’s found you?"
"The Emperor of the Universe... and our home planet." Kakakesei began.
"Emperor Bojyakku." Nekonikoban finished.
Trunks blinked. "Bojyakku?"
The twins looked each other in the eye. Neko nodded to Kaka.
"Bojyakku is a strong warrior, though his taste in clothing is severely lacking. He’s served by impossibly strong minions, all of which a lot stronger than we are... well... were, anyway."
Trunks looked at the two. "So, if Bojyakku, the ‘self-proclaimed’ Emperor of the Universe dies here, your planet will be freed?"
The two looked at each other. "Hai, sensei."
"But if we loose, the Earth becomes yet another one of his worlds?"
"Hai."
Trunks smiled. "Well then, we damn well better not loose."
***
"How long now?"
"Not long, Emperor! This world had a Furiiza rating of 9, it will be a good addition to your empire."
"I’m well aware of this world’s virtues, Zangya." The shaded figure said, crossing his arms. "I JUST WANTED TO KNOW OUR ETA!"
Seemingly unconcerned by her master’s savage outburst, Zangya nodded. "Hai, Emperor. ETA is twenty-four hours."
***
"Okaasan, what’s the radar say?"
"There’s a large metallic object approaching Chikyuu Sei, it’s slowed for solar-system travel, and is passing where our moon used to be."
An’ya looked at Trunks. "Chikyuu Sei had a moon?"
Trunks grinned. "Hai. Piccolo-sama blew it up to stop Son Gohan from transforming into an Ozaru."
Everyone looked at Trunks oddly. An’ya asked the obvious question. "What’s an Ozaru?"
Trunks sighed. "It’s what a Saiya-jin transforms into if he or she sees a full moon and has a tail. Look, it’s not important. Okaasan, when do you think this... Bojyakku... will get here?"
"Give me a second Trunks. I’m not as young as I used to be." Buruma said, taking out a calculator. "Lets see, two-hundred and twenty-five thousand... carry the one... squared... factor in average speed... taking into account the speed of the earth’s revolution around the sun... and the average rotational velocity..." Buruma looked up. "He’ll be here in just under a day."
"Great job, Okaasan! Do you know where he’ll be landing?"
"Can’t tell, but I’d say it’s somewhere near where South City used to be."
"Bojyakku won’t land at South City." Neko said, eyes closed. "He’ll come here, to the most heavily populated part of the planet, and demand surrender."
"Kuso," Trunks cursed. "If we fight here, too many people could get hurt. We’ll have to draw him away somehow."
"Bojyakku wants the people here hurt less than you do, Trunks. He needs people to follow him, he’s got an inferiority complex the size of the planet. If we challenge him, he’ll allow us to go someplace unpopulated for our fight."
"Yeah, but what happens when he realizes he’s going to loose?"
Neko and Kaka, the two most experienced with Bojyakku looked at each other, and shrugged.
"It’s simple, Trunks." An’ya said, "Bojyakku’s never lost. My home planet is also under his rule, though you can hardly call it that. He cuts off all trade, all starship travel, and isolates us so if one planet rebels the other’s won’t know to rebel too. I was lucky I evaded detection by his inter-stellar patrols when I fled my planet. Trunks, you could just say he’s not a very good neighbor, and his presence alone causes the property value to decrease."
An’ya wiped a tear from her eyes. "Trunks, I’m here to become strong enough to beat Bojyakku, and I’m sure that’s why Kakakesei and Nekonikoban are here as well. My planet can’t grow enough food to support our population. My people are starving because of Bojyakku. Against you, though, I’d say Bojyakku’s met his match."
Trunks raised an eyebrow. "For the sake of both of our planets, I hope you’re right An’ya. Okay, everyone, here’s the plan. Four hours training at twenty times normal gravity, and then you can all relax for a couple of hours, and then get some sleep. I want you up by ten tomorrow morning so we can be ready for Bojyakku."
"Hai, sensei!" was the group reply.
***
"Which dot is Bojyakku’s ship again?" Kaka asked, for the dozenth time.
"The yellow one, right there. It’s moving towards us rather quickly, I suppose." Buruma said, pointing to the monitor. "I hope this Bojyakku is better at landing than Vegeta was."
Trunks raised an eyebrow. "Nanda?"
Buruma smiled sadly, the look in her eyes becoming distant as she focused on her memories of the past. "You should’ve seen the size of the crater he left when he landed Capsule San Gou. Right in the Capsule Corporation’s front lawn too. Took my dad weeks to get it filled in."
Trunks shrugged. "Okaasan, what time do you think he’ll be here?"
Buruma shrugged as well. "It’s hard to say, he keeps constantly changing speed, like he can’t decide where to land."
"Strange." Trunks said, eyes narrowing.
"Yes, I thought so too." Buruma said, and then the room fell silent, everyone watching the dot except An’ya, who was watching Trunks.
Trunks seems worried, but even in stressful times like these his good qualities shine through... It’s hard to worry about anything while he’s around. As watchful as he is, it’s hard to believe any danger could strike without his knowing about it in time to give us enough warning to do something about it, and even then, he’ll probably have already dealt with it before we can even turn and look. An’ya smiled sadly. It’s nice to think Trunks is there to protect me, but Bojyakku is going to try all of our strength, and put Trunks’s teachings to the test.
An’ya glanced around at the other students, Juuhachi, Buruma, and Trunks. I just hope we’re all ready for this, because this fight could turn out to be our last.

"Gomi! This planet is nothing but Gomi! I wouldn’t put an _outhouse_ here!" Bojyakku glared at Zangya. "This planet had a Furiiza rating of _nine_?"
"Twenty-five years ago, yes, this was one of the most beautiful planets in this sector of space..." Zangya shrugged. "Times change, I guess."
"Not this much. Not in so short a time." Bojyakku said, eyes narrowing. "This planet has seen more than a war, If they weren’t dead, I’d say this devastation was Furiiza’s handiwork, or perhaps that of the Saiya-jin."
"A dead race from a dead planet can’t do this, Emperor... Though Furiiza might be a possibility. He disappeared, we don’t know what happened to him."
Bojyakku’s eyes narrowed as he looked at his right-hand warrior. "Zangya."
"H... Hai?"
"If Furiiza was still alive, he would have challenged me long ago."
"Unless he feared your power, my lord..."
"Even Changelings have their weaknesses, Zangya. You would do well to remember that."
"Emperor! I’m detecting a large city, approximately two-thousand kilometers distant. There’s a large concentration of life there."
Bojyakku smiled. "Excellent work, Zangya. This world has seen hell, they will doubtless give up without a fight to avoid seeing any more."
"Still, there might be some strong fighters here, maybe willing to do anything to get off this world. Which would probably be perfect for our needs." Zangya said with a smile.
Bojyakku smiled as well. "Lets consult the Nameku sei-jin."

Dressed in a black fighting Gi and a purple jacket, Trunks sat on his bed, restlessly polishing his sword. This is stupid, this waiting... kuso... Bojyakku, I hope you hurry up and get here so we can get this fight over with!
In a sudden burst of movement, Trunks tore his hand away from his sword. Suprised, he looked down at the line of blood in his palm. "Damn stupid."
"What is, Trunksu?" A voice asked from outside his door.
Quickly wiping the blood off his sword, and sliding it into it’s sheath, Trunks stood to greet Juuhachi Gou. The door was open, and she was looking in at him quizzically.
"You should really be more careful with edged weapons, Trunksu." Juuhachi smiled, walking into the room. She grabbed his hand, though Trunks tried to back away. "Let me see it, Trunksu. It’ll be a distraction if you go to battle in pain or confused."
Trunks shook his head. "I just wish we had Senzus for this fight, but Karin disappeared when his tower was destroyed twenty years ago."
Juuhachi shook hear head. "It’s no use wishing for what you can’t have, just fighting for what you _do_ have."
Trunks smiled. "Well said, Juuhachi. Shall we join the other students?"
"In a second." Juuhachi blushed. "Trunksu, in case either of us don’t survive this... I just wanted to say thanks, for everything you’ve done for me, and for trusting me, and, well..." She seemed hung up on what she was going to say, as if she couldn’t quite find the right words. Her expression hardened slightly, as she took a more formal stance. "I just wanted to say, it’ll be an honor fighting with you." With that said, she kissed Trunks on the lips, and ran out of the room.
A couple of minutes later, when Trunks had overcome his shock, and feeling had returned to both his mind and his lips, Trunks stood to join his students in the living room. Before he could move a foot towards the door, he noticed An’ya looking into his room as if debating knocking, or continuing on. When she noticed that he’d spotted her, she blushed slightly, and was instantly thankful that her coal-black skin didn't express such emotions.
Apparently, she made her decision, and stepped into the room.
"Trunks... I’d like to thank you for all you’ve taught me this last year... If I don’t survive this, Trunks, promise me you’ll remember me."
Trunks’s eyes narrowed. "Remember my third lesson, An’ya? If you go into a fight expecting to loose, you will. Your powers are of the mind, An’ya, and your pessimism and self-defeatism is your greatest weakness."
"I... I know... Trunks, you’re not making this any easier on me..."
Trunks sighed. "I’m sorry, An’ya... this waiting is getting on my nerves." He smiled slightly. "Let me just say, I could no more forget my favorite student than she could me if I happened to die."
An’ya blinked in suprise. She hadn’t expected that answer, though she realized that it was true.
"H... Hai, Trunks-sama. I’ll see you downstairs, then." Unintentionally copying Juuhachi’s earlier move, An’ya kissed Trunks, and quickly walked out of the room.
Trunks looked after her. That was... strange.
Nekonikoban stuck his head in the doorway, he looked about to say something.
"You’re not going to kiss me too, are you?" Trunks asked, slightly annoyed.
Nekonikoban blushed, stammered something, and then managed to say: "Bojyakku is ten minutes from arriving." Before staggering away from Trunks’s room, his plan blown out of the water.
What a strange day... Trunks thought, kissed by Juuhachi and An’ya... They’re definitely not what I’d call bad kissers, that’s for sure... but what does this mean for me?
For that matter, what the hell was up with Nekonikoban?
***
Juuhachi stood at the edge of town where Bojyakku would probably land. Beside her were all of Trunksu’s other students, and Trunksu as well. He hadn’t made eye contact with her sense their... her kiss.
That was stupid, Juuhachi... you really are a Bakayaru... what were you thinking kissing Trunks like that? You don’t even know if he really does trust you... what happened to your resolve? Your promise to let him make the first move? She already knew the answer to that.
I panicked... I can’t believe I panicked! Kuso... Juuhachi, get a hold of yourself... you can’t let your feelings for Trunksu get in your way in this fight. She tried to tell herself that she was just fighting to have fun, fighting for herself because she wanted to. Deep down though, she recognized that she had started lying to herself.
She was doing this for Trunksu... _her_ Trunksu.
***
Bojyakku’s ship came down as expected, to the suprise of Sean and Mike, who had been talking about video games while walking home from school. Suprised to see a large, alien-looking starship right outside of town, they panicked and ran away screaming, exactly as Bojyakku had expected the first contact with the species of this planet to go.
Thus, he was suprised to find a group of seven people standing in front of the door of his ship as Zangya announced that the emperor of the universe has arrived, and that all should bow to him.’
These seven didn’t, and Bojyakku recognized three of them as members of races he’d already subjugated. Even worse, he recognized one of them specifically. She’d been a thorn in his side sense her fourteenth birthday, nearly a decade ago. Worse, his warriors recognized her too.
What suprised him, though, was that she was standing relatively behind one of the planet’s natives. As if he was the one in charge.
An’ya is too prideful to stand behind someone she’s more powerful than. Suprising, he must be a strong fighter or her lover to warrant such respect.
"Nameku Sei-Jin! Compare that warrior’s strength to mine."
Karugo, an unwilling servant of Bojyakku, closed his eyes. "Yours is superior, Emperor."
The purple-hared warrior’s eyes narrowed. "So you’re Bojyakku, huh? You’re not at all what I was expecting."
