Chapter 6:
"Zerochiten: Ni"

Bojyakku and Trunks glared each other in the eye, each gauging the other’s resolve to fight. Bojyakku grinned.

"I’m impressed you’ve managed to tame An’ya Ryuu. The dark dragon has allways been a thorn in my side sense my release ten years ago." Bojyakku grinned. "And never once have I seen that woman bow to the will of _any_ man. You must be an impressive warrior indeed. Or, perhaps..."

Bojyakku left the rest unsaid.

Trunks frowned. "She came to me, asking to be trained."

"And you took her in without a question asked? How foolish."

Trunks smiled. "Better to be foolish and have friends than intelligent with servants. How many of your warriors would you willingly lay down your life for? How many would fight for you if they were not under penelty of death for disobeying you?"

Bojyakku growled in anger. I will allways have Zangya, He told himself mentally, as he increased his power to match his hatred for this young warrior. He does not fear me! The fool, I’ll crush him like a bug!

Bojyakku attacked quickly, and was suprised to find Trunks blocking all of his moves.

"Tell me," Trunks said between blocks, "Are you at your maximum power, or is there still more hidden away?"

Bojyakku growled. "Why do you ask?"

He was suprised by Trunks’s grin. "Because I’m barely at half-strength." Trunks said, disengaging from combat. The pair stood, well, floated, opposite each other. Trunks grimaced, and was surrounded by a white aura as he powered up. Bojyakku did likewise, though his aura was a yellowish-green as opposed to Trunks’s white.

Trunks grinned. "I’m at my maximum, are you?"

Bojyakku didn’t answer, instead he once again attacked. Trunks dodged easily, and blocked the flurry of punches with a series of precise arm movements.

They traided blows on and off for almost a minute, completely ignoring the explosion caused by the Kaka Kesei attack.

When the two seperated, Bojyakku and Trunks were both breathing hard.

"You’re one hell of a fighter, Bojyakku."

"You are as well, Trunks. It’s a pity you’re at your maximum."

Trunks’s eyes narrowed, as he brushed a stray lock of hair from his eyes. "And why is that?"

Bojyakku grinned. "Because I’m not finished gathering my strength yet!"

With that, the blue skinned alien screamed, and maxed out his own power. Trunks gasped, the only people he knew with strength that high were Perfect Cell, and Super Saiya-jin Son Gohan, and Super Saiya-jin Son Gokou. Though Trunks was indeed as strong as Perfect Cell had been, he was still weaker than Bojyakku.

The odds were no longer in his favor.

Bojyakku delivered a flying knee-smash to Trunks’s gut, sending the younger warrior into the remains of an unreconstructed, pre-Jinzouningen era building. It colapsed around him in a wall of dust.

Bojyakku grinned. "A pity he was so easily beaten."

Trunks stepped out of the cloud of dust, his hair no longer purple. He was surrounded by a yellow aura, which matched his current hair color. Bojyakku also noted that his skin seemed paler as well, and that Trunks’s formerly blue eyes were now a solid, pupil-less turquoise.

"I’m not so easily beaten as that, Bojyakku. I’ve survived worse attacks in my _sleep_."

Bojyakku cursed, coming up with some fairly explicit, and more often than not true, details about Trunks’s parentage.

"Chikushoume. You came here, now you’re going to have to live with your defeat."

"Perhaps, Trunks, or perhaps not. For you see, though your transformation is quite impressive, I have one as well!"

Strike, dodge, block... Strike, dodge block... those were the only thoughts passing through Zangya’s head as she fought Jinzouningen Juuhachi Gou. She was decidedly suprised with her enemy’s strength. Who’d have ever guessed Juuhachi could be so strong? She seemed to have an unlimited supply of energy, often following up an offensive attack with an energy blast that could easily cripple or kill Zangya.

Still, the fight was exhilerating. Dispite her earlier maligning of Juuhachi, Zangya knew they were evenly matched. It was only a matter of which one of them tired first, and Zangya didn’t even know if Jinzouningen Juuhachi Gou even _got_ tired.

This is one of the best fights I’ve ever been involved in! Dispite the fact that Juuhachi might kill me, I’m not scared at all... as if everything I’ve yet done in my life has led up to this point, and this point alone!

Zangya grinned, as she dodged one of Juuhachi’s energy attacks.

Juuhachi grinned back, and fired another blast, which Zangya dodged as well.

Zangya rolled, and spun in mid air, to come up facing Juuhachi. "I’m suprised at your strength, Juuhachi. The purple haired warrior really defeated you?"

Juuhachi smiled. "Hai, and then saved me from certain death, though this world would have rejoyced had I died. I owe him a lot." Juuhachi dodged one of Zangya’s energy attacks, and responded with her own, which Zangya also dodged.

"Tell me, Zangya, what do you owe Bojyakku? Everything I’ve heard and seen of him has been bad. How is it a jerk like him has won your respect and service?"

Zangya’s eyes hardened. "Jajauma! How dare you talk of Bojyakku that way!" She attacked with more fury than Juuhachi had anticipated, knocking the cyborg backwards. In a hail of unblocked punches and kicks, Zangya and Juuhachi both slammed into the ground, and continued accross the battlefield. To both of their suprise, their mobile fight caused them to pass near An’ya’s fight with Buujin.

Juuhachi took a second to check on how that fight was going, before returning her attention to Zangya, who had appearantly done the same thing.

"It seems my Bojyakku has the upper hand on your Trunks." Zangya said with a grin. Juuhachi did a quick Ki-check, and laughed. "You kidding? Trunks isn’t anywhere near at his full power! He hasn’t even become a Super Saiya-jin yet!"

Zangya blinked. "Super... Saiya-jin?"

Juuhachi felt Trunks’s Ki increase substantially.

"Oh, there he goes. Bojyakku is screwed now."

Zangya glared at Juuhachi. "Bullshit. Bojyakku hasn’t transformed yet either."

An’ya and Buujin had not moved sense the outset of battle. They were fighting, not physically, but with their minds. Each attemptinging to kill the other’s mental self on the astral plane.

***

The astral plane itself was nothing but a glowing green grid upon a background of sheer nothingness. In it hovered dozens of small ‘islands’ of demi-matter, upon which An’ya and Buujin faced each other.

Both were panting, tired from the continued assault on the other’s consiousness, and from protecting themselves from the foe trying to kill them.

An’ya grinned. Though she really only had one Ki attack, there were other things someone can do without relying on visible energy.

"You smile, Dragon Lady..." Buujin said, trying to catch his breath. "Yet you are no better off than I. Why?"

An’ya smiled. "Syougehakeha!"

Buujin grimaced as he was struck by the psychic push. Normally doing little physical damage, the Syougehakeha was immensely powerful on the Astral Plane. An’ya was using it, not directly on Buujin like the little psychic had been predicting, but on the rocks around him.

In a flash of movement that suprised even An’ya, each rock plunged towards the short warrior Buujin. Trapped in the center of a cloud of flying debries, Buujin’s mental image was crushed amongst the rocks. When the projectiles finally seperated, Buujin was not present anywhere on the Astral Plane.

An’ya cursed, and reverted to the real world as quickly as she dared. Too fast would mean her death, so slower was better. She almost pittied Buujin, who’d probably taken the quickest possible way out, and paid for it with quite a bit of mental and physical anguish.

An’ya came to standing opposite Buujin as they had been in the Astral Plane.

Buujin grimaced, and glared at An’ya. "You’ve gotten stronger, An’ya. Time was, you couldn’t even push _me_ with the Syougehakeha. It’s a pity you are unable to use that attack in the real world like I can."

An’ya’s eyes narrowed. "Coming from the guy loosing this fight, I’d say that’s a pretty bold statement."

"Kutabacchimae!"

"That an invitation, little man?"

Buujin grimaced again, and raised a hand. "It seems your boyfriend is roughing up Emperor Bojyakku pretty well."

An’ya grinned. "Told you Super Saiya-jin Trunks would win. Weren’t you paying attention?"

Buujin smiled as well. "You kidding? Bojyakku hasn’t even transformed yet."

An’ya gasped. "Bojyakku can Transform?"

Buujin’s grin didn’t fade. If anything, it just got bigger. "Hai!"

An’ya smiled too. "Well, Trunks can still take him out, I’d imagine. I’ve seen him fight once, other than in training spars, and his abilitys amazed me then." Her smile got bigger as well.

Buujin’s wicked smile, the evil glint in his eyes, his sudden shift in posture, all told An’ya that she’d wasted too much time talking. Rather than letting her foe attack first, she attacked with a snap kick aimed at Buujin’s thin stomach.

Buujin, of course, had been expecting that. He dodged with ease, grin never leaving his face. "Stupid, predictable An’ya. I’ve completely recovered my strength during our little talk, and you? You’re still to weak to defeat me!"

An’ya’s eyes narrowed. "Like hell I am."

"You said it, not I."

***

Trunks glared at Bojyakku. "Oh really? Let me guess, you’re going to rip your pirate-clothes to shreads, grow an inch or two, loose the damned stupid turban, change color, and be what you consider to be ‘horribly strong’?"

"Hai. Got it in one guess." Predictably, he started screaming at the top of his lungs. He was instantly surrounded by his pea soup green aura of energy. Bojyakku’s long orange hair turned an odd shade of magenta, and tore his turban to shreads. His sky blue skin turned the same color green as his aura and Bojyakku’s shirt went the way of his turban. Transformation finished, Bojyakku grinned.

Trunks gasped. Bojyakku’s strength had doubled. Even at his Super Saiya-jin maximum, Bojyakku, or Super Bojyakku, or whatever he was called after his transformation, was stronger by at least fourty percent!

Trunks growled in anger, and dropped to a fighting position.

Bojyakku hit him anyway, dispite his precautions. Trunks didn’t even see it coming. One second standing, ready to defend himself, and the next he was picking his way out of a semi-destroyed building, holding his gut in pain.

"Chi... Chikushoume..."

Trunks closed the distance between himself and Bojyakku in less than a second, and immediately went on the offensive. To Trunks’s suprise, every attack connected. Bojyakku hadn’t even tried to block.

He hadn’t needed to.

Bojyakku was too strong for Trunks to hurt. Bojyakku grinned, and grabbed Trunks by the throat. "Is that it, little Saiya-jin?" He laughed, and tightened his grip, cutting off Trunks’s oxygen.

"Brat! What do you think you’re doing? Have some pride, or you’ll die like a dog!"

What?
Trunks was incredulous. Great, not only is Bojyakku going to kill me, but now I’m hearing Otousan’s voice as well!

"Damnit brat! Fight back. Bojyakku’s not so tough, you’re my _son_ for kami-sama’s sake! You will _win_ this kami-damned fight! If you don’t, I’ll kick your ass myself when you arrive in Other World! DO YOU HEAR ME?"

Trunks’s vision grayed, he blinked trying to clear his eyes and his thoughts. That sounds too much like Otousan to be a figment of my imagination, but how...

"Kakarotto’s teacher, dolt! Kaiou-sama is letting me talk to you, brat! You’re the last Saiya-jin left, you’ve got to continue our heratige! Bojyakku is nothing but kasu! You can beat him, Trunks."
That his father’s voice sounded angry was no suprise, that it sounded like he was rooting for Trunks _was_. "Don’t dissappoint me son! You worked hard to eleminate your student’s weaknesses, but you neglected your own! Your own self-doubt is keeping you from reaching your true strength!"

But... Otousan!

"Don’t ‘but Otousan’ me, Brat! Get angry! Fight! Win! I ask no more of you than that. Bojyakku is a pissant compaired to you. Now, you WILL fight back, and you WILL win! YOU HEAR ME?"

Trunks didn’t respond, he looked Bojyakku straight in the eyes, and smiled.

Bojyakku blinked. He hadn’t expected that. "S... Smiling? You do realize you’re going to die, don’t you?"

Trunks mouthed something that Bojyakku couldn’t quite understand. He let up his pressure a little. "What was that?"

"TAIYOKEN!"

Bojyakku screamed, and clutched his eyes in pain. Trunks spent the entire length of the Taiyoken trying to catch his breath, and backing away from the enraged Bojyakku.

In a little over ten seconds, the Taiyoken had dissipated, and thirty seconds after that, Bojyakku’s eyes cleared.

"Hiretsukan! Kutabacchimae!" Bojyakku was not happy. "DIE!" With that word, he fired a massive energy blast at Trunks.

Chikushoume! Trunks thought, I’m still too tired to be able to dodge or block _that_!

Juuhachi looked up in shock. "TRUNKSU! IIE!"

An’ya did likewise, fear visable in her eyes. "TRUNKS! NO!"
