Quite a large portion of the words which come from the mouth of George W Bush are in the form of slogans. These slogans and his statements are are often strongly contradicted by actions George W Bush has taken. It does become readily apparent much of what George says is not meant to enlighten potential voters and assist in making an informed choice, but to "band aid" over some dark flaw with generalities and confusion of accuracy. What George speaks of often acts as a pointer to what he does not wish to be explored in detail.
"compassionate conservative", George W Bush
George W Bush has used this phrase to describe himself so many times it may as well be tattooed on his forehead. But just what is a "compassionate conservative"? George has never bothered to elaborate by citing specifics. A look to the state of Texas provides some answers. As governor, George has faught measures to fund health insurance for children (a dubious distinction, Texas ranks number three). He also likes to claim that as president, he would leave no child behind.

"the best way to allocate resources in our society is through the market place, not through the governing elite", George W Bush
This statement is quite a powerfull exception to the activities of the George W and the Texas Rangers Stadium managers. The group coveted land adjacent to the plot for the stadium. To get the property on the very cheap, a government entity called "the Arlington Sports Faclilties Development Authority" was formed and granted the power of emminent domain. George W and company made a low ball bid for the property (less than one third of fair market value). When the property owners rejected the bid, GWB's group had the ASFDA condemn the property. GW's group then managed to take the private land at 1/7 of its market value. Decent people try to do what is right. Blue Blood elitists such as GW Bush endeavor to do what they can get away with.

"it's the people's money an I want to give it back to them", George W Bush
Sure sounds noble and George has made it a cornerstone of his campaign. But is George true to the idea suggested by this mantra? To fund the Texas Rangers stadium, a 1/2 cent sales tax increase was passed. True it was a measure voted on. However, George and the managers threatened to take the team away without the sales tax increase. George W and the wealthy managers of the Rangers could easily have built the stadium without the sales tax increase and still made a huge profit but they would have made a smaller huge profit. So the millions of dollars taken in from the people did not go to fund child education, health or even roads. 15 million of it did find its way into George W Bush's pocket. To be truthfull in his words, George should make his statement accurate by saying, "it is the people's money and I want to give back what I have not managed to skim off the top for my personal finances". What about the federal surplus George mentions ad nauseum? 66% of the 483 billion dollars would go to the wealthiest 10% of Americans. Only 11% of the cut would go to 60% of Americans for an average tax cut of $249 dollars. Does it make sense to do this especially considering such a move would fuel the risk of inflation? Well, George wants to get himself elected so he can do such "daring" and "noble" things.

"I believe in the government must be for the working class, I am all for the working class", George W Bush
This is not reflected in his past legisative efforts or the wealthy weighted tax plan component of his "vision". Texas House Rep. Kevin Bailey wrote a pro-consumer ammedment to prevent utilities from shifting "frayed costs" (costs for outdated nuclear plants, etc) onto the consumers. The bill would have helped consumers and small businesses avoid paying a disproportionate cost of the utilities' inefficiency. GW refused to sign the budget with this ammendment attached. Thanks to "prince George", frayed costs have been pushed onto the backs of the people.

"I will restore dignity to the White House", George W Bush
How much dignity can be attributed to someone who has taken advantage of the power arising from having a father who is president to violate the law with impugnity? George W Bush has on at least 4 seperate occasions conducted insider trading. The trades he made were clear violations of the SEC regulations. George W was investigated but never prosecuted. George H Bush appointed the five chairman of the SEC. One who is without such clout would have been penalized for up to three times the profit realized from the illegal trade. But blue blood George conducted insider trading with the consequences at nil. What sort of dignity can be offered by someone who abuses government power for personal gain?

"unlike the Clinton/Gore administration, I won't take a poll every five minutes, I do not watch polls", George W Bush
When being interviewed after the March 14th primaries, a poll showed George slighty ahead (margin of error results in dead heat). George gloated, "I see that I am beating a sitting vice president in the polls which is pretty darn good news! but I don't pay attention to polls". His difficulty with integrity extends further than just speech.

"I am a reformer with a record of results", George W Bush
This stale phrase is used over and over again but never is backed up with meaningful specifics, only more generalities. Of course the Bush camp is using the word in context different than how is was originally used. As used by McCain, the word pertained campaign finance reform. And when the Bush camp realized McCain clearly led on the issue of campaign finance REFORM, a Bush strategist cooked up the "reformer with results" slogan. They wish voters to consider "reform" in a broader context. They have George use this slogan so many times, the effort is more like an attempt at brain washing than campaigning. Consistent with the trend established by George, there has not been much in the way of specifics behind the use of this slogan. The slogan seems to imply great fundamental change in Texas as he often mentions his "history of reforms" and the "record" he wants to take to Washington. But why does George never seem to bring specifics regarding the "Texas record"? Here it is, you be the judge.

Perhaps George means deformer. In view of what is implied to be the foundation of this tired, misused phrase, touting himself as a self serving politician who "has a history of deforms in the state of Texas with a record of inverse results" is more accurate.

Weasel words, integrity of speech and George W Bush
George W Bush hides himself behind behind walls of hypocrisy where the bricks are made of weasel words and the mortar, a Texas drawl of mispronunciation. That Gaseous Wind Bush has a serious problem with integrity of speech is obvious. His difficulties with integrity extend far beyond speech. Instead of a history of meaningful reforms, Gaseous Wind Bush has established a list of self serving affronts to fairness and a series of ethical transgressions. The next time Gaseous Wind Bush is in front of a camera spewing meaningless blather, consider covering your ears. You will not miss out on any reason, specifics or meaningful expression, you will be protecting yourself from insult.
