Links

On this first page of links I am promoting, alphabetically, sites that I think are exceptional in their respective areas and/or social value. In the right-hand table column will be selections for pages devoted to more links, by topic. If you, dear viewer, know of a worthy link that I should include,
please send the URL to
gwnsea@yahoo.com
and I will check it out for myself.

This site is wonderful resource, not only for those doing research on their family trees, but for those interested in history, ethnic groups and world culture, immigration, and the immigrant experience.

Odin's Castle of Dreams & Legends
Odin's Castle of Dreams & Legends
An Archive of HIstory and Historical Resources

This site provides a wealth of worthwhile world history links that can save one the time spent with usually fruitless internet searches that provide too many irrelevant or duplicated results. Odin has spent a great deal of time and energy on researching the information necessary to put such a vast 'Links' site together. It is well worth your visit and very educational. Visit with a specific question or enjoy a leisurely browse.

On This Date In North American Indian History
by Phil Konstantin

I used Phil's site to find informational links for the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois); his site was very helpful and contained links I couldn't find elsewhere. Check this site out if you are interested in Native American history, religions, cultures, or social and political issues.

The Southern Poverty Law Center
http://www.splcenter.org/
An organization committed to civil and human rights within America. SPLC works to end hatred and intolerance through both education and litigation; they have an excellent program for schools called Teaching Tolerance. SPLC monitors hate groups and reports on hate crimes of all kinds in its "Intelligence Report." On October 23, 1990 and on behalf of the family of murdered Ethiopian graduate student Mulugeta Seraw, SPLC won their civil lawsuit against Tom and John Metzger (leaders of WAR or White Aryan Resistance ). Please refer to this page for the complete story:

I was living in S.E. Portland, Oregon, in the November of 1988 when this brutal murder took place, on Southeast 31st Avenue and Pine Street in the early morning of November 13th, committed by three skinheads from East Side White Pride. It happened only about a mile from where I was living.

Quote from White Crane Journal's Main Page:
"White Crane Journal explores gay spirituality to uncover the variety of the manifestations of spiritual quest among contemporary gay men, and to reclaim their place in the development of human consciousness, committed to the intuition that gay consciousness plays a special and important role in the evolution of life on planet Earth. A variety of articles from White Crane are available at this website."

I recommend the content of this site to both women and heterosexual men, as well. First, because some things are universal, and second, those things that are not ought to be shared and learned.
