Title: "Poetry" in Carolingia font and
fiery, gold-leaf foil colorization.
Base of word is a large, symmetrical
Fleurons dingbat in a cobalt blue,
floral scroll pattern.
Poem title: "Orpheus" in Achilles font,
with a satiny sheen in bluish-purple
and magenta highlights.

You looked back to see
unable to believe
in benevolent gods
in the perfection
of your song
only steps from the light
your eyes turned back
to the hell
you had become accustomed to.

Only a moment
of lost faith was needed
to break the magic
to rip out your heart
so close to resurrection.

A draped-from-the-back mostly nude Orpheus
standing with a held lyre, body facing right. It's
a black-line image on an off-white background.
Black line has been altered to color line in a sweep
from the bottom of held lyre and figure's waist
to the figure's ankles; the color is a gradation
from top to bottom of rose pink to orchid lavender.
On the neck and right side of figure's left-turned head,
lines have been colored in sunrise oranges as though
he is standing before the dawn. Figure created from
an Apollo dingbat from a mythology font. A draped-from-the-back mostly nude Orpheus
standing with a held lyre, body facing right. It's
a ghostly, gray-line image on a black background.
Lined image has been altered around and above figure's
upper torso so that figure appears three-dimensional,
even photographic in the left-turned face. This is
achieved by use of blazing highlight and illuminating
reflection from a fiery patch of sunlight in the upper
right corner. The impression is that of the sun reaching
into the darkness of a cavern via a rock fissure. Figure
created from an Apollo dingbat from a mythology font.
