Hello,  Welcome to my first web page.  I'd like to start by telling you a little about me.

Life has truly been an obstacle for me. Throughout my life, I have experienced numerous joys. I have seen the world and what it has to offer. Maybe now I have found my niche.
My name is Gwendolyn Elaine Smith. I was born on April 29, 1956 in the city of Newport News,Virginia at Riverside Hospital. I lived in Newport News for five years, then my family and I moved to Hampton, Virginia. After graduating from High School, I attended Hampton Roads
Business College and received a diploma for completing the Career Secretary Course. During
the time I attended Business School, I worked at the Social Security office in Newport News as
a clerk. I also worked at NASA in the Contractual Accounting Department as a clerk. Shortly
after completing school, I married my first husband and moved to Germany for a year.
When I returned to the United States, I was hired at the Newport News Shipyard and Dry-dock where I was trained and worked as a welder. After a year of employment, I worked as a welding inspector. In 1980 I wanted a change in my life, so I enlisted in the U.S. Army.
I had been separated from my first husband for many years. In 1981 he died. I married my
second husband in 1983. In 1988 my son was born in Landstuhl, Germany. In 1989 I was
selected by the Department of the Army to work as an Army Recruiter. In August 1994, my
military service terminated due to medical reasons.
I attended school in Wanamassa, New Jersey for cosmetology in November 1994 and completed the course in March 1996. September 1996, I returned to Virginia because I was unable to work in the cosmetology field due to my illness progression. I worked in the telemarketing field for a few years and then decided to continue my education. I am now studying to be a computer programmer. I also have an interest in Networking. Upon completion of my schooling, my goal is to have my own business as a programmer.
I have experienced various changes in my career and personal life. Each change has taught me a little more about myself. Upon completing computer programming, I feel that it will solidify my career and personal endeavors.

I am now currently involved with a very special man.  I truly feel that he was God sent.  Here we are at my celebration of one year sobriety, William Jones, my father, and me.
