Introduction
If you asked a person on the street to name five famous American authors from the 20th century. Ernest Hemingway would almost certainly be on the list. What this hypothetical person on the street might not realize, though, is that while Ernest Hemingway himself was from Illinois, the characters in his stories resided in many nations around the world. Based on his experience as a journalist in World War I, Spanish Civil War and other international affairs, Hemingway gained the cultural knowledge to send his characters to France , Spain, Cuba, etc. In this treasure hunt you will investigate how Hemingway's international experience allowed him to become one of those most famous American authors.
