Chapter 2: Nothing Sacred
By: Akkiko
The next week at school as Zelda was leaving her algebra class, the boy who had cornored her walked up and handed her a slip of paper. "See ya at eleven on
Friday dollface."
She loked ta the paper. "Tylor Winston; (809)000-4081" She smiled as he stared at her. Knowing someone`s name was a really powerful thing to her. "You
know, I`m getting tired of you Tylor so why don`t ou stick this where the sun don`t shine and find some other trash so you can try your own kind." With that she
crumpled up the paper and threw it at him full forse. He walked away angrely but then his girlfriend walked up to her with her face red and her mouth open.
Zelda stopped her before she could say a word. "Why don`t you find a boyfriend who will be true you hussie!" With that Zelda walked away.
Dante walked up behind her looking skittish. "Wow, someone`s in a good mood."
She smiled at him. "Oh I`m in a lovely mood, that hussie`s boyfriend Tylor just asked me out and I said 'no' then she storms over ready to spoat off to me!"
He smiled slightly. "Alright, anger management. breath in and out." She laughed a little and they went to their next class.
At the end of the day Zelda went to her locker and frowned. The inside was lined with small paper hearts and there was a box of chocholates on the top shelf.
She picked up the box of cholcolates and opened it then took a bite of one. It was peanut butter, her favorite kind. Behind one of the hearts she saw a small
white thing. She picked it out and saw that it was a piese of paper. "With love, Dante." She closed the box. No use wasting perfectly good chocholates. With
that she began to walk down the hall. When Dante meant up with her she smiled. "Thanks for the chocholates, I love peanut butter."
He smiled as he stuffed a chocolate covered cherry in his mouth then licked off the small drip of cream from his chin. "You`re welcome."
When the bus screeched to a halt in front of her house that day she went to the mailbox and pulled out the small pile of mail. It was all for her, which scared
her. There was also no postage or return address, so whoever it was that sent it had put it in her mailbox and taken the rest of the mail. Her knees began to
shake and her stomach came alive with butterflies as she opened up the first of six envolopes.
It was a pack of six pictures, of her. They were her doing everyday things like walking, eatting, thinking. In bold red letters across each photo was the word
"MINE". The next envolope had three pictures taken outside her window. They were pictures of her dressing, brushing her hair, and doign her homeowrk.
Across each of these the words "NOTHING SACRED" was written in red letters. The next envolope had four pictures. They were up close pictures of her neck,
eyes, mouth, and waist. Across these were the words "STOP AT NOTHING". She opened the next envolope. This had eight pictures of her while she was
walking at night with the moonlight accenting the more desireable parts of her. "MOONLIGHT QUEEN" was written in white across these.
The fifth envolope had pictures of her parents doing day to day things like cutting grass, kissing, and eatting. The words "STOP AT NOTHING" were repeated
on these. Zelda began to tremble uncontrolably as she opened the last envolope. Kelly. Pictures of her walking, playing, sleeping, eatting, reading, crying,
screaming, everything she did, every moment, photographed. Across all of hers was the word "PROMISE".
She screamed as she threw the envolopes down and ripped up all the pictures then dashed inside her house. She froze as she opened the door. The walls were
plastered with pictures of her. It seemed that if she looekd over them fast enough it would be like watching a vidio. Each second had been photographed. On
one wall across the door, in bold red letters, spraypaint jumped out at her in the word "NEVER". She dashed to her room and threw the door open and that was
when she saw the stalkers other collection. Kelly. "NO THREATS, PROMISES". She smelt flowers and saw the bed was covered in petals and there was a
candle lit. The pictures seemed the swirl around her in an arrey until they became a suffucating cloud that was lifting her up and then throwing her down. She
heard a loud laughter and didn`t know if it was in her mind or real. Her knees gave out, then her legs, then her back, then her arms, and finally blackness crept
into her vision until it consumed her.
"Zelda?" Her eyes opened a little bit but she snapped them closed again. Her vision was blurry. There was an insistant shake of her arm next. "Zelda?" Her eyes
opened finally and Kelly`s face meant her. She reached her arms out and hugged the three year old, that was when she saw her room. It was as though she had
imagined the pictures. They were gone, and the walls were swept clean. Zelda jumped to her feet and paused slightly as dizzyness swept over her. As soon as it
passed she dashed out of her room. There were no pictures, nothing at all. She glanced at the clock and saw that she had been out for over two hours. Her
mother moved nearby as she kicked off her shoes. They had just gotten in the door. "Zelda?" She jumped slightly and looked down at her sister. Her eyes were
big and brown as she smiled. "Can we go camping tonight? It`s a weekend."
Zelda took one look around the room and grinned. She was going nuts, that`s all. It was just a bad dream. She looked at Kelly and smiled. "Sure."
