Bread Crumbs for You
By: Akkiko
They took her away and so I cried.
They took her to a land far away although to stop them I tried.
But as she was drug away, she turned to me and from her arm angry fingers pried.
"Look for bread crumbs in the tide."
I waited for years to see her again.
I waited to see my sister again.
I had watched as she was drug away time and again.
And now I cried inside as the darkness on me began.
A postcard lay in my hand,
A postcard with the beach.
"Look for bread crumbs in the tide" she had said.
And so, I left my home to find bread crumbs on the beach.
Have you died my dear sister?
Where are you now?
Do you skip about in the oceans we loved so?
Where did your bread crumbs go?
I found them one day,
I found the bread crumbs making a path.
I followed the bread crumbs,
The bread crumbs making a path.
They led to a hole in the ground and as I peered o`er the side,
I saw a pile of bread crumbs,
Spread throughout the grave.
And inside lay my sister, smile on her lips.
"Here are the bread crumbs I leave."
