Dawn

Akkiko

Streets full of cries.

Empty and never ending.

Silent and dark.

Walking alone,

Footsteps echoing.

Tears falling.

It was snatched away.

Loneliness consumes.

Truly alone now.

Fear is gripping.

Streetlights are flickering.

A lone dark figure.

She is walking.

She is mourning loss.

She is throwing tears.

Dashing through the streets.

Running from herself.

She can''t take anymore.

Why do you weep loner?

Why do you cry so?

What comfort can I bring you?

"None," she says.

"None at all.

Rid me of life."

"It is night.

It is dark.

There is no light."

"But there is," I say.

"There will be.

It is almost dawn."

She cried and wept there.

She walked along those streets alone.

The streets were empty and dark.

She walked all night.

She walked until day.

Then there was a miracle.

The dawn came.

It bathed her in hope.

It flooded her eyes with tears of happiness.
