Rest in Peace
Sickly pain rains through me.
"Make me alone!
I don't want to hurt anymore!"
The monster he runs at me.
His teeth are bared.
His fur is bristling.
Death is where I am.
In that dark place we all run from.
But I am not alone.
People gray and sad surround me.
Clothes of black and handkerchiefs of white,
Tears falling on the ground.
"The dear child,
Taking her life was her only escape."
A sob breaks loose, my mother cries.
The coffin is black,
In it lay a girl I once knew.
People said she was me.
How was it so?
Here I stood!
Here I was!
"I am here!
I am alive!
I am standing right here!"
Another sob breaks the air
As they lower me into the ground.
Then a white hand stretches up through the wood.
Soil crumbles and breaks.
Black blood floods the hole where I lay.
Dirt covers it over.
"Rest in peace,
A kind a sweet girl."
Doomed forever I am.
How will I prove that I still live?
A weird little piece wasn't it? It's from a dream. I know the poem doesn't really flow or rhyme, but I think it's alright. Let me know what you think!
