First Aid

Before you even begin to read note: THESE NUMBERS ARE WRONG this is the ranks needed to tend each type of bleeder before the first aid changes took effect. I do hope to eventually get these numbers back in line but hopefully they are still on the same playing field and can give you a ballpark idea of what you may need. Also note, you can become diseased after having a bleeder for just a moment, or it can take days.

First aid is a skill that ALL guilds should seek knowledge in. Regardless of the path you choose in life, you will bleed, and when you do, only your first aid skill will help you to tend it until you can find an empath to heal the wound. You can train in first aid by listening to a class, keeping a small bleeder to tend, or tending other people’s bleeders if they will let you. As you learn you will become able to tend bleeders of worse severity and for longer durations of time.

With the changes in effect you can now become diseased if you keep a pet bleeder. For empaths this is fine, yet another way to keep the magic moving. However for other guilds this can be a serious issue, so if you choose to bleed (and really who can resist!) be sure you have the stamina to stay alive while you seek out an empath to cure your disease or stay close to one. The practice will do you no good if you keel over before you can soak it in.

Bleeders are listed in order of severity, the numbers (30/10) are the ranks needed to tend.

I quit listing the ranks needed at the end, because if you can tend anything higher than Gushing you really need to look into getting a life and quit bleeding all the time.

***If you have new numbers for any or all of the above, i'd love to have them to update this guide, you can reach me at GwynathRemb@yahoo.com and I will happily give credit where it is due.

NOTE:

These numbers were pulled together by polling. They are NOT precise, as many things seem to factor into what you can and cannot tend. For example the following things will affect what you can tend and the roundtime. Location of bleeder (arms, hands and eyes are the hardest), your other wounds, your race, your guild, whether or not you are in combat and one of your stats I am sure. Whether it is agility or discipline I am not sure. Kitties and Skra seem to have a harder time tending than other races, by a good 14-20 ranks. Tried to make these numbers where you can tend at with no leak, but again as far as precision, read above. I put the highest number I got for each, so you may be able to tend sooner than this shows.

Out of non-empaths polled the ranks needed to tend SEVERE varied from 80 to 120. So keep that in mind when figuring what you need.

The same range was found in empaths as to when they could tend extreme severe. Some swear 80, others 120ish. I know I was long since tending it at 100.

From the information gathered in the poll I guesstimated at the remaining ranks needed if no one had an answer for that particular bleeder.
