Floor!
The floor exercise is an event done by both men and women in gymnmastics. Women must use music with no words, and men cannot use any.
The size of the floor is about 10 x 10 meters (or for all you non-metric people 40 x 40 feet), for both men and women. There is a white line along the perimeter of the mat, and deductions will be given if the gymnast steps out of that line. The floor is made out of either metal springs or foam pieces, and then it is covered with a large sheet of plywood. On top of that wood are a layer of mats (usually blue), which make it easier for the gymnasts to tumble on, rather than wood.

On the floor exercise, gymnasts are to have a routine which is consisting of dance moves, and tumbling lines. A routine for women must be 70-90 seconds, and for men, it must be 50-70 seconds. To get a good score, a gymnast must have a free flowing routine (in a woman's case, their tumbling lines and dance should go with the music they have chosen.)
