Studio Rules

Attire:
Girls may wear shorts, t-shirts, leotards, or sweats.  NO white sports bras, please.  NO jeans in gymnastics!
Boys may wear shorts, t-shirts, sweats, or anything you can move in.
Gymnasts may either go barefoot or wear clean cotton socks.  (Tights are great for dancing, but they are way too slick for gymnastics.)  If you have athletes foot, you must wear socks!  No shoes will be allowed on the mats.  Hair shoulder length or longer MUST be worn in some sort of ponytail, braid, etc.  Try not to wear the hard ponytail balls -- they make dents in your head when you roll over them.  Ouch!
Dancers must have appropriate dance shoes for the class they are in.

Behavior:
NO GUM IS ALLOWED AT THE STUDIO.  I don't want to have to use my first aid &/or CPR skills.
NO HORSE PLAY WILL BE ALLOWED!  Running around the room and crossing the mats is not only disruptive to others, you could be run over by another tumbler.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE FLOOR UNLESS YOU ARE IN THE CLASS THAT IS IN SESSION.  When your class is dismissed, you must leave the floor immediately because another class will be starting promptly.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE EQUIPMENT AFTER YOUR CLASS.  Please wait in the waiting area for your ride.
PLEASE THROW AWAY YOUR TRASH.  Pop and snacks will be available as long as everyone picks up after themselves.  You cannot charge snacks, so be sure to bring your money if you want something.

Waiting Area:
Parents may drop off students and leave.  Parents who would like to stay must wait in the waiting area.  Parents are also responsible for keeping any younger children from coming onto the floor or getting into the display windows.
Siblings and friends must wait in the waiting area.
Students waiting for their class to begin should wait in the waiting area or on the bench just inside the gate.
No one should come out onto the floor while a class is in session.  Do not walk up behind me while I'm trying to spot a gymnast coming down the mat.  This could be hazardous to everyone involved!

Payments:
Monthly dues are due by the 10th of every month.  Dues paid after the 10th will be assessed a $5.00 late fee for that month.  Months are not prorated.  Some months have 5 weeks, and this generally makes up for weeks that have holidays.  A missed gymnastics class may be made up by asking the instructor for a make up time.  Missed dance classes may not be made up as no other class will be working at the same level or on the same material.
A Registration fee is due annually by October 1st.  Students who participate in the candy sale are not required to pay the registration fee and will receive their GBA t-shirt free!
Dance shoes must be paid for when you place your order.  Shoe companies are hit the hardest in the Fall, so order as soon as possible.
Dancers' recital costumes must be paid in full by December 1st.  No exceptions will be made.  Costumes are made to order and must be paid for when we place the order.  Orders may take anywhere from 12 to 16 weeks for delivery, so we must order by December to have the costumes here by recital.
Gymnastics recital gear is available throughout the year.  Gymnasts will need a GBA t-shirt and red hot pants, trunks, or capri pants.
Checks should be made payable to Gymnastics By Ann or GBA.  MasterCard and VISA are also accepted.

Miscellaneous:
Class cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced on WBIW.  Cancellations will also be posted on the answering machines for GBA (275-2030) and Lucas Martial Arts Academy (277-0717).
Students with head lice will not be allowed to participate in class until they are NIT FREE.  This means that NO EGGS are left in the hair.  The Board of Health says that an infected child can roll down the mats and lose eggs.  The next child to roll down the mats can pick them up!  So, please, let's not spread head lice!
