In the event finals held Wednesday, Dong added the golds on vault, beam, and floor exercise to her all-around and team golds. Hyung-Ook Shin (KOR) and Akihiro Kasumatsu (JPN) managed to snap China's gold medal streak by tying for the title on pommel horse. Japan's Tomita and Norimasa Iwai both tied Huang Xu for the gold on rings and parallel bars, respectively. With the gymnastics competition ended, China walked away with 13 of 14 possible golds.
