My name is Bob Slade and I will be taking over Joel's #20 Team. I found out about the team from Bill Sanders who I have been playing one kind or another of fantasy baseball with since 1986 or so, and I still can't beat him!! I am on "the list" but I don't post too often. I do follow the posts religiously and I do consider it a real honor to play in Roaring 20's with so many of what I consider "Scoresheet All-Star Owners" that I've come to know and respect through "the list" and by getting creamed in the end-of-season tournament run by Brian. (Thanks Dan for destroying my NAIL Fade Glory entry and Theron for destroying my GLL Sultans of Squat entry in this yers tournament d;o))
A little bit about me. I've played scoresheet since 1988 (or before, I can't remember). I play in two private leagues (NAIL in the AL http://members.tripod.com/~NAIL98/ and The Great Lakes League in the NL http://members.nbci.com/fcirlv/glhome.htm and I always play in a one one-year mail draft league because I love to draft from scratch, too. I also have a standard 5/5 Rotisserie team in a 10-team AL and I play in another BL fantasy league with Bill. These teams pretty much take up most of my spare time. I haven't kept track of my record of playoff teams over the years, but I have three SS champions-- I usually get my teams into the playoffs probably 2/3's of the time, but probably not in R20's-- too many good/great owners!!
I'm married, have one son who is a sophmore at University of Michigan and I work as Purchasing Director and Risk Manager for the City of Portage (near Kalamazoo) in south west Michigan. I'm hopelessly hooked on the Tigers and they had to carry me kicking and screaming out of Michigan and Trumbell, but Comerica is a great place to see a ball game, too.
As a SS owner, I'm as dependable as they come-- in NAIL we ask new owners to give a minimum three-year commitment which I have no problem giving to Roaring 20's. Also, I pledge to never hold up the drafts and I will always make player picks promptly. Not much else to say right now except thanks for letting me take Joel's team-- it should be fun and a challenge-- I'm really looking forward to playing with you.
