Chauncy Connecticutt Cornwell

(Research):After death of wife Rozillah Young Chauncey married Elizabeth Welch(Welsh) either in Ohio or Wisconsin. He and all the childern went to Dogde Co., Wis. in the 1850s and later to Plainview, Wabasha co., Minn.


40. Elijah Roscoe Cornwell

(Research):Rozilla died in 1805 ( or 1856 per one source) and Chauncey took the children to Dodge Co WI. He married Elizabeth Welch or Welsh in WI? They later moved to Plainview MN. Roscoe is actually elijah Roscoe and he lived in Plainview also. Am sending you the families I have on seperate email. In all eChauncey and Rozilla had 7 chiuldren three of whom died in childhood. Alfred Chauncey is my great grandfather. He married an Irish girl named Jenny Whelan in Plainview. they later moved to ND or Dakota Territory, Cass Co and then back to Plainview. After Jenny died he married Hattie E Bruer.
No children from that marriage that I know of.
His son Chauncey James married Jane Sutherland in Chicago IL and they raised 4 girls there.

201. Florence Edna BRADY (6)(2) was born on 22 Sep 1876 in Glenville, Freeborn , Minnesota. (6)(15) She died on 3 Feb 1971 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.(6) She was buried in Banff, Alberta, Canada.(6)
She was married to Hubert Elliot YOUNG (son of Daniel Russell YOUNG and Lois Elmina MARVIN) on 22 May 1896 in Glenville, Freeborn , Minnesota.(6) Hubert Elliot YOUNG(6) (2) was born on 27 Apr 1874 in Glenville, Freeborn , Minnesota.(6) He died on 6 Feb 1963 in Banff, Alberta, Canada.(6) He was buried on 9 Feb 1963 in Banff, Alberta, Canada.(6) Hubert was a descendant of John Young who was in Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts in 1648. John Young married Abigail Howland, niece of Pilgrim John Howland. His grandson, James Young, married Mary Higgins, a great granddaughter of Thomas Rogers who came over on the Mayflower and was one of the signers of the Mayflower Compact.

In the early 1900's (about 1907) the family moved to Yakima Washington where they lived for a few years before taking up some land near Mountain Home, ID. About 1912 they moved to Banff, Alta., Canada where Hubert's brother Clarence was a merchant. In 1915 the Youngs and Edna's brothers came to the Shaunavon area looking for homestead land.
For the first few years they lived in Brady Coulee, named for the family. Florence Edna BRADY and Hubert Elliot YOUNG had the following children:

13. Cyprain B. Young

Cyprian B. Young voluntered to help put down the southern rebellion in companyB of the 29th Wisconsin Infantry in 1861. Cyprian servied under colonel Gill in the Red River Expedition, was wounded and taken prisoner in battle. He died 27September1865 in a confederate prison in the state of Texas. The men there were treated decently and buried decently with markers at there graves.

17. Hubert Perrie Young

Hubert Perrie Young volunteered to help put down the southern rebellion the 26April 1861. Mustered into the U. S. service 13 July 1861 by captain J. D. McIntyrd, Company 1, 5th Wisconsin Infantry. Hubert was taken prisoner of war 27 June 1862.Exchanged and returned to duty Novenber 1862. Mustered out of the service 2 August 1864.
