The Emperor Scorpion
Feeding
Feeding: Pandinus imperator will eat just about anything it can get its pedipalps
onto. This includes insects, other arachnids, lizards and small mice. A steady diet
of crickets and mealworms will meet most of their nutritional needs, but an
occasional lizard, pinkie mouse (I don't recommend this if you are squeamish;
pinkies squeal and bleed a lot) or moth from around your porch light may be a
welcome change. A steady water supply is also recommended. The bottom cut
out from a plastic drinking cup does nicely. If the water dish is deep enough,
emperors will occasionally submerge themselves under water for a short time. As
long as the scorpion is large enough to escape from the water dish, don't worry
about this behavior. If there are young in the terrarium, keep the water dish
shallow to prevent them from drowning.
