Breed Specific Legislation, commonly known to those in the Pit Bull world as BSL, has been on the upward slide across the United States. While BSL terrorizes the American Pit Bull Terrier, it is not alone in the list of breeds targeted by these discriminatory laws. This list of breeds includes Rottweilers, Dobermans, Chows, American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Bull Terriers and any other breed that may be on the hot-seat at the moment. Any breed of dog has the potential to be dangerous. Laws should not center on a breed of dog as that does not prevent dog attacks. In most cases, bad owners are the ones responsible for dangerous dogs. Dangerous-dog laws should be inacted to deal with these irresponsible owners and the dogs that have perpetrated the attacks. This idealism is touted as "Judge the deed, not the breed" in the circles of those who know and love the Pit Bull breeds.
