Krka National Park .....'The first ferry left the small dock at Skradin at nine o'clock in the morning and we were aboard with our food, drink, swimming costumes and towels. The wide river spread like a mill pond ahead of us and reflected perfectly the sloping wooded hills either side of the valley and one small white cloud in the clear sky. The morning sun had not yet risen above the hill tops and was just a pale hint of the day to come. We motored up the river past quiet fishermen who silently watched us as we chugged by. Huge, darting dragonflies skimmed the water's surface and the dark silhouettes of fish dissapeared before our eyes down into the greeny-blue depths....' |
