The Trevi Fountain
.....Without doubt the most famous fountain in Rome, it has the unmistakable energy of Bernini, who had a hand in it's creation.   Neptune, his cloak billowing in the wind, stands in a central niche of this facade, and guides his chariot through the wild sea before him.  Two horses rear out of the water and are led through the rocks and waves by powerful merman sea gods.  The wide pool of clear shallow water, which looks so inviting, is edged by a low rounded wall and we like thousands before us, sat with our backs to the fountain and threw our coins over our shoulders.....ond day we will return to Rome'...
