Foggy photos... (Winter 2001)
We were supposed to catch the Leonid meteor shower on one fine Saturday night. The Leonid shower did occur, the Earth did rotate around the sun, but it just wasn't fine. The thick Pittsburgh fog (or was it smog) decided to settle itself snugly around CMU and the rest of Pittsburgh right at the time when the Leonids were supposed to fall. A once in a 99 years event.
I messaged the rest, arranging to meet at 12 midnite outside Doherty Hall, where we could arm ourselves with picnic stuff and our cameras and watch the shower of meteors come down from the open expanse of Shanley Park. I was in Shaun's and Kitae's room urging them to hurry up when Kitae pointed to the window and asked "Are you maaad? It's foggy out there!". I peeked out of the window - ooops... nevertheless we had already arranged with the rest to meet at DH, so off we went.
I was struck by the fog. Even in Singapore with the fierciest haze could not match the intensity of the Fog of Pitts. Auto-focus was thrown out of the window for most shots (how to focus in the fog?), but we did have some fun taking photos in the fog and playing ultimate frisbee till 2.30am.... ^_^
Shaun and Kitae outside our dorm, Morewood Gardens. Farnie.. is my lens
having dust on it?
Arghh... when is my Canon Powershot G1 digital camera coming?
Me in London. Nah...it's the traffic light junction at Morewood...
Suddenly spotted this nice ray of light streaming through the trees. JPEG
compression aint that good...
Another foggy photo. What were u expecting? Nice clear, crisp, colorful
photos on a foggy day? Dream on..
The lighting was nice and good, but alas, hand-shake...
Finally, something presentatable... Myst-like, aint it?
