HISTORY 1996-2000

January 1996: The first version of Hockey -96 released.

- This was the first one and actually didn't have anything but Feeling on it. It's a real classic, and pretty rare. (Maybe some 20-50 copies  think about that!)

-  Puck didn't stop ever, players trying to poke it in and score.

- 8 direction moving, no sound, two gamemodes, one period, no statistics (goals only), no computer-opponents.

- In size about 8% of today's H2001; 240 kb.

- Remastered (english) version can be activated with code in Hockey 2001 ! Very nostalgy. You'll get the code by sending feedback and asking for it.

April 1996: The second version of H96.

- For sure the worst Hockey version ever. Basically the same as previous, but lot of unnecessary additions.

- Size doubled.

- Loysy implementation, which lots of 'frames' (KNP).

May 1997: Hockey -97.

- Additions of previous version were totally abandoned.

- A new inner gamemotor was reality; now the puck first time actually behaved like in a normal ice hockey (it slide and stopped when pushing force was no more).

- One direction shooting.

- Visual implementation was still pretty much same, but samples and musics were included. A classic wav-file created a great feeling.

- Three periods, shot-stats and also first version of four players-mode.

- Someway little unfinished, and personally I was still clearly unsatisfied with the game.

- Spread all over the world, althought it was finnish (not finish =). Estimate is 120.000, and for sure (based on facts) at least 100.000 copies. That's much.

- A small article in Finland's biggest pc-magazine Mikrobitti.

August 2000: Hockey 2000.

- After three years, big H is here again. Everything was started over in April 2000, and there were no single TGF-codeline from previous versions. First idea didn't succeed, and there was two months break from coding (creating) between May-June, and it seemed that there isn't gonna be a new Hockey. But in July the decission to make it more straightforward saved it.

- 32 direction movement, 32 direction shooting, computer-opponents; exhibition & tournament-modes, practise, both two and four players-modes, enormous amount of statistics, better memory-control etc.

- First time I personally thought that it really worked.

- Much more graphics, musics and samples, althought it still wasn't the most beautiful pc-game.

- In size it was 2,6 mb, which was almost as much as 6 times more than H97 was.

- Homepage and e-mail activity. First feedback sent by Tero J. in 27.8. Much feedback, almost 90% of them have been positive or neutral. About 10 % have been negative, but most part of that is good critic and only negligible amount of feedback have been senseles bullshit.

- 13.10.2000 Game of the day in Mikrobitti's website.

- Download H2K (Attention! Hockey 2001 is more recommended)

November 2000: Hockey 2000 version 1.1 named as Hockey 2001 for marketing reasons.

- I've noticed that I have always little unsatisfaction with the game, and that was the reason why doing this version. It's pretty much same as H2K, and there is no such a jump as there were from H97 to H2K or even from H96 to H97. It's 2001 because H2K should had been. But

- This version is certainly the best.

- Hockey school, more statistics (like estimated ranks and winning percentages), more playable Four players-mode, cooler visual implementation, more audiovisuality and many little improvments.

- In size 2,8 mb. New inner game-motor quaranteed that the size didn't grow too much.

- Inludes also remastered version of original nostalgy Hockey '96.

- 30.11.2000 added to www.download.com. After first 10 days it had been downloaded 15,000 copies! In december game was also added to www.gamesdomain.com and to some other similar sites.
