Bandit Flight, Summer '99
On the Bus

A full day of gliding was either six hours before lunch or nine hours after it. Since we slept in Penhold, and flew out of Innisfail, we were bussed back and forth everyday. A lot of these rides were spent catching up on our sleep, and most of the interesting stuff weren't caught on film anyways, but here's some photos that had stories to go with them...

So, here we were, heading to the field at 6:30 in the morning. Most of us were still half asleep. All of a sudden, the bus comes to a stop, and everyone bursts out in laughter. It turns out Lt Peralta's car had broken down in the middle of nowhere, while CI McKinlay was driving it. So, we picked the two of them up, and off we went. Six hours later, on our way back, we saw that same car, well, the same car plus some vegetation...

Okay, so I'm not the greatest photographer, but it's still a pretty neat shot, eh? The cloud on the right was HUGE. What you see here is only about one fifth of it. The incredible thing was that it formed in only a couple of minutes.

And this is a picture of us on our way home from Sylvan Lake. I can't remember if there is a story behind this picture. I really doubt there is. I'm not sure why I took this picture, but here it is anyways.
