| The Cross
Room The young man was at the end of his rope. Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy a cross to bear." The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear it's weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then open another door and pick any cross you wish." The man was filled with relief. "Thank you, Lord," he sighed, and did as he was told. As he looked around the room he saw many different crosses; some so large the tops were not visible. Then he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall. "I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered. And the Lord replied, "My son, that's the cross you brought in." - author unknown- |
十字架的房間 一個青年感覺已經走到了山窮水盡的時候，找不著出路。他跪下來，向天主祈求： 「主啊！我不能繼續了！我背負的十字架實在是太沉重了！」 天主回應說：「我的兒啊，若你不能背負它的重量，就把它放在這個房間。打開另外一扇門，去選另外一個吧！」 青年充滿了喜悅，很高興地說：「感謝主！」他鬆了口氣，然後依著主的吩咐做。 當他望向室內時，他看到很多很多不同的十字架，有些大得連頂處也看不見。 突然，他的眼光，被一個放在遠處牆邊的小小的十字架吸引著。 他輕聲說：「主啊！我選那一個。」 主回答說：「我的兒啊！那是你帶進來的那一個。」 - 主內的小寶 誠譯 - |
