GCC is set on an acre of rolling hills and swaying grasses, typical land for Ontario, Canada, where we are located. An air-conditioned and heated addition to the main house is what our dogs call home. Partitioned into two sections, the female dogs live together, separate from the males, who also live together. Dogs are allowed to roam free around the property during the day, while they are brought in at night for warmth purposes. We are set on the shores of Lake Superior, and the dogs are free to swim if they wish. Each dog has a food dish, however dogs are fed separately, so as to ensure all dogs get their fair share without a fight. Water is a necessity, and a water trough, always full to the brim with cool water, is fixed to the wall on each side of the partition. Each dog sports a red collar with a canadian flag embroidered on the front. All collars are equipped with the dog's name, the kennel name, and our phone number. Our property is fenced with solid wood, 3' high, and our gate is elaborately carved with dogs and maple leaves. We have a few round pens, left over from when the GCC owned horses, and in the largest one is located our agility equipment. We have all the necessary items for a good course, including a see-saw, a tunnel, an A frame and over 10 sets of standards and 50 poles. |
