A view of Pleasant Hill, about 25 miles (40km) east of San Francisco.

We promised some updates. Well thank you for your patience.
First of all, Here is our pevious Home page with a lot of good info and pictures.

The picture above is made in the spring when the hills are still green.
From November onwards we have the rainy season up to late April. Most of the soil is quite muddy, certainly after a couple of showers. Mud slides with or without the houses on top of them are therefore no exception in the winter season, especially on the steep slopes.

Probably, the best known landmark of this region is the Golden Gate Bridge. Built in the 30' its color is actually quite red. Somewhere in its stucture is a golden rivet, but its name reflects probably best the fact that it bridges the Gate to the Golden State of California.

This view is from the Childrens museum at the old Fort in Sausolito.

At the folowing link you find our own Backyard obviously in Dutch
Here our "Huis en Tuin" page
and our "Wild West" page

Here are the engineers of the Golden Gate at work!! in the Children Museum!!.
