4. Anonymous Mailer

A program to send Anonymous mail. This means that the receiver of the mail will not be able to figure out the sender of the mail.

6. Find Zip

Do you have a zip file locked with a password??? Well, this program can find the password for you. The program finds the password with which the zip file is locked.

7. Get Administrator rights

With any User account on a NT 4.0 SP3 machine you can add yourself into the Administrator group. You have to log on locally on the machine where you want to add yourself to the Administrators. Doesn't work on BDC's (backup domain controllers). Microsoft gave out a fix, but you can run another program and then the tool still works (I haven't tried it). Warning: The executable takes as parameter the name of the account to be added to the Administrators group and has no other parameters. If you use GetAdmin -? or something like this then the not existing account -? will be added.

9. Revelation 1.1

Windows 95 can cache passwords. When a dialog box appears with a remembered password field, you can use this utility to discover the password text. Doesn't work on Windows NT.

10. Windows NT Password Dump Utility

This utility dumps the password database of an NT machine that is held in the NT registry into a valid smbpasswd format file. The passwords are encrypted, you see only the hash value. You can dump remotely, but you need Administrator access on the machine you want to dump. This utility fails if you have Administrator access, but your account isn't named 'Administrator'. Doesn't work on non-english machines. You need this utility for the password decrypting tools. If have modified the tool so that the check for the 'Administrator' account name is removed. I've also got a version that generates the list from another registry position (LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\SAMTEST\SAM\Domains\Account\Users instead of LOCAL_MACHINE\SECURITY\SAM\Domains\Account\Users), so that you can read in the SAM from another computer when you got the SAM file. I'm working on a completely new version which works for international NT's (almost finished!).

11. SAMDUMP

Converts a SAM file into a smbpasswd format file (gets the hash codes of all accounts). The SAM file is easy to obtain: run RDISK to update repair info and copy the SAM from the WINNT\repair folder. Or boot your computer with a DOS disk and copy the SAM directly away (WINNT\system32\config), on NTFS drives you need a utility to access the disk Or you use if from the repair disk.

12. L0phtCrack 2.52

This is a graphical tool for turning Microsoft LANMAN and NT password hashes back into the original clear text passwords. The program does this using dictionary cracking and also brute force. Very interesting: with a Pentium Pro 200 in about 26 hours all passwords are cracked (assuming they only contain the letters A-Z), and it's a matter of minutes with a good dictionary. You can also decode sniffed network log files.
