Pengembangan dan pemvalidasian alat ukur iklim sekolah

Abstract

The purpose of the study were to develop and validate a school climate instrument based on that developed by Fisher (1990) in Australia.  The instrument consisted of two forms, actual and preferred forms, to measure aspects of actual and preferred school climate.  

To validate the actual form, the study involved 418 elementary and secondary school teachers, and to validate the preferred one it involved 403 elementary and secondary school teachers in district of Padang, Padang Panjang, Bukittinggi and Payakumbuh, West Sumatera province.  Data were analysed by applying factor analysis, Cronbach Alpha and discriminat validity.  

The result of the study demonstrated that the empirical evidence was not completely supported the items grouped into scales.  The internal consistency of the instrument was higher than the first version developed by Fuady (1993), but it was still lower than the original.  Each item of the instrument did not overlap with the others.  So, the instrument can be implemented widely to measure elementary and secondary school climate.
