The big weekend has finally arrived -- our house goes on the market! If you've somehow avoided visiting us here over the past 7.5 years, or if you've visited us many times and wondered what the house looked like underneath all the clutter, you can see it here -- take the house tour, send a shill to the open house on Sunday, bid up the price, you know, the usual. Wish us luck -- we may have nervous breakdowns if we have to keep the place this neat for more than a week!

Yesterday, the realtor called to say that another agent had a couple from out of the country who were leaving the country to go home and they were house hunting in DC and wanted to see the place. Their estimated time of arrival was in about one-hour from the phone call. I scrambled around the house throwing stuff in drawers, turning on lights, carrying out the half-filled garbage bags, spraying orange-blossom scent here and there, and then they arrived. The place looked wonderful. I left to do an errand. When I returned two hours later, the entire house had disappeared. Seems they came in with a crane, lifted it from its foundation, and hauled it away. I found an old arrow head in the dirt where the foundation used to be. It's worth probably seventy-five dollars. So all-in-all, the day wasn't a complete bust! Everything from the word "errand" on is not true, however.
