Entry for December 28, 2006
photo
So . . . here we are on December 28, 2006, and  finally getting around to posting photos from Thanksgiving.   And what a celebration that was.  Hosted by Dave and Jane Stone and their sons Aaron and Evan, at their home in Fredericksburg, Virginia, everyone breathed a heavy sigh of relief knowing that Dave and Jane had posted their trained guard dog, Irish, to patrol the perimiter of the property.  As can be seen in the photos (link provided below), Irish was fulfilling his role as Guard Dog on Duty (commonly known as G.D.O.D.).

Nancy's (Chick's) family were all in attendance, with Meg coming all the way from Florida with Kynan and Nate.  Meg's daughter, Noele, popped in from out in Warrenton, VA.  We greatly missed seeing Maxine who was unable to make the trip due to a Paris Hilton look alike contest (just kidding).  Meg's friend Stuart joined us as well.  Diana and I enjoyed a night out with Stuart and Meg the following Saturday to celebrate his birthday.  A wonderful dinner at Marcel's Restaurant in D.C., then off to enjoy a night on the town which ended up more fizzle than fizz.  Ending up at the Saki Club in Woodley Park, DC, Diana and Stuart enjoyed a sampling of sakis while Meg and I sampled more traditional libations.  Chick's daughter, Christine, and granddaughter Courtney (Courts) came too.  Then Rick and Regina, with Angela and Matthew, made up the rest of the crew.  L i v e l y would be an understatement.

Back to Thanksgiving.  Mary and Gene Melby and our nephew Jerry and his friend Linda also joined the throng.  We were so pleased to be with so many of the family again on such a special day.  And thank you Jane and Dave for all the work that you obviously put into making everyone of us feel special and at home.
