Buenos Dias from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! We arrived Wednesday afternoon, safe and sound, and checked into a hotel for one night before our fabulous condo became available – above is the view from our balcony. Our place is just perfect, just as advertised online (so now we can definitely recommend using the website www.vrbo.com – vacation rentals by owner, which shows villas and condos, mainly owned by Americans, available all over the world). This may be the most luxurious place we’ve ever stayed, absolutely beautifully decorated, with every amenity, from an espresso machine and sandwich press to a computer printer and wireless internet and our own washer and dryer. We’ve already found our way to the supermarket, the fish market, the vitamin store, a place to send faxes and of course all kinds of nice restaurants. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the beach, but we’re just as happy to sit out on our lovely shaded deck and read, or take a dip in the pool below us. The temperatures have ranged from a low of about 70 at night to a high of about 85 during the day, with a gentle breeze – just perfect for keeping all the doors open all day and night. We’re doing our best to get our diets under control and stay healthy – fruit plates and yogurt for breakfast, rice and beans for lunch, vegetable salads for dinner, fish when we go out to eat (though we just bought some wonderful fresh fish, caught here this morning, to make here tonight). Hopefully it will make up for the last few months of indulging in all those rich and fattening desserts!
