Ciao da Roma!  We're here in the Eternal City but not exactly enjoying all its advantages -- Diana has spent the whole time trying to file applications for our residency permits (which we are required by law to file within 8 days of arrival, and which are the sole purpose for this initial stop in Rome) and Allen has spent most of it sleeping in the hotel room, sick with a cold.   Unfortunately we can't get our computers connected to the internet so we don't have pictures or long stories to share, but hopefully we can rectify that after we arrive in Catania, Sicily tomorrow night.  Sorry for the long delay in posting and we look forward to giving you better news and more frequent updates soon!
