Imense metal band esclaVage entered the kingdom of the recording studio on the 15th December 2002, it's now 2003 and if you missed it here's a recap.

esclaVage recorded there e.p and mbotb was there, this is a modification of the interview they did to let anyone that doesn't know about it, know.

esclaVage are a diverse metal band who seem too young for the power and intensity they put out, Lead singer Smirf is just sixteen as is drummer arron and bassist woody. Leanne there newest edition is seventeen and the grandma of the group.
Ok looking at esclaVage it's easy to believe they have got some guy who skates, a good looking girl, the smallest drummer they could find and a gothic bassist to look hardkore. Infact they have a guy who doesn't skate but could penetrate your eardrums at time and will certainly make the room shake with his harsh voice. The guitarist although a goddess is someone who seriously looks the part and wouldn't think twice about kicking you in the balls - she can handle a g string, the drummer although ridiculed about his size by umm no one is one of the best drummers around, he won't shout about it, but the fact that whenever he touches a kit a crowd forms around it is enough. The bassist is a gothic mofo who makes this band look hardkore, but his fingers are fast and his wit faster, the thing is with this band you can look at them and they'll look like any other band. But when there up on the stage and are blasting out their music they have power and a excellent stage presence which will be something that's hard to capture in a e.p. Let's see what they had to say...

What is the hardest thing about recording a CD?
Smirf: "Fucking up and having to start again."

What was the best thing about recording a CD?
Arron: "Listening to it afterwards."

When will your CD be available to your fans?
Mumblings from the whole band the most precise answer given was after christmas. No matter when after christmas this e.p is going to be something to change there lives.

This is where the band begin to talk a little more, you can tell they were quite tired from recording at this time. But they still make the effort and answer each question, slipping in the odd fuck. esclaVage are a band that swear naturally and it's something they do which comes across in their songs as them express emotion. It's not a act, they are not trying to be the limpbizkit of metal and it IS necessary.

Did you learn anything about the recording process that you didn't already know during this session?
Leanne: "Its hard, if you make even the smallest mistake you have to start over again and it gets tiring.
Smirf lets us know what he think about the recording in two simple words shoved in somewhere "Fucking tedious"

How does recording this cd change your plans for further recordings?
Arron: "We'll wait longer to do it"
Woody: "Work on our Merchandise"
Smirf: "Prostitutes"
Leanne: "I want a prostitute!"

There certainly seeming rock and roll so far with need for prostitutes but we're thinking smirf is the more so. Guitarist leanne only wanted one, maybe we'll get them one for christmas...now on with the questions...

How do you see the band going forward from here?
Smirf: "Bigger gigs."

Will you be able to use your new CD to further your musical career?
All replying with a eager hell yeah...

So what do you think your next step is going to be?
Smirf: "To get bigger gigs with bigger bands at bigger venues"

esclaVage are doing great now, Do you see gigging becoming more intense?
Woody: "Yes, if we get enough people at the gigs and a nice pit. We like all that Shit.

Where do you see esclaVage in two years time?
Arron: "Hopefully we'll have a larger fan base. But we will most likely be doing things differently, gigs, music etc."

Ok, someone hears your cd and wants you to play how can they get you?
Someone: "Call any one of us! Or e-mail to esclavage-drummer@hotmail.com"

So is there anything else that you'd like to ad?
Smirf: "Well, I'd just like to thank Jane for giving us the opportunity to record this E.P for free."
Arron: "We should record more often, its just so cool. It was just an ickle bit tiring but good fun though, erm..innit mush."
Woody: "The CDs gonna be good but our live gigs will be better, louder and more intense than it. We try to stand for and convey chaos and power, it was hard to capture it on a CD but I think we did ok.
Leanne: "Yaaay sexy new geetar! Its been really cool playing for esclaVage, I cant wait till our next gig! Woohoo! Love and lollipops from Leannder xx"
Woody: "Yeah Hail to thee esclaVage, may you bring chaos wherever thou doth travel."
Arron: "Y'alright pal?"
Randomness: "WE ESCLAVAGE!!!!"
Smirf: "Bloody good that."

Ok so there not talkative, but there a bloody good band if you like your metal heavy or umm your heavy metal. So you really should catch them, here's a little statement from esclaVage...

" As a band [Arron, Woody, Smirf and Leanne], we have only been together for five months and we have already played Battle of the Bands and Joes Well, playing well at both.

Personally we think that in those months Esclavage have taken a step forward , becoming harder, darker, heavier and have gained depth. We are glad and grateful that people have come and seen us and enjoyed us and that you have helped us in every way possible - you know who you are!!(ME?!)

Soon we shall get back to regular gigging, and perhaps stomp our authority on the Morley, and maybe even the Leeds music scene.
Love
Esclavage x"
