Tree Poetry

This page will be a collection of my tree-related poetry. Most of these will be still in the editing process.

Storm Tree

Oak tree
thunder-tree
king
of the forest

Broad
leafy twisted
boughs shade
the brook

Tall
stretching up
to climb
the sky

Lightning strikes
weakened limbs
allow all-heal
mistletoe

Lightning strikes
fells boughs
leaves half-green
half fiery, dead brown

Lightning strikes
stretching oak
wide, sprawling tall
on dirt

Stream brightened
by sun
lightning-gatherer
returns to earth

Acorn-born
young thunder-yearner
sprouts, grows strong
on the bodies of ancestors

Reaches out
reaches up
to lightning.

[the grove]Return to the Grove.
