DRAGONS
There are (fortunately) many, many dragon toys out there.
Of course, that means this list won't be very complete, but I'll keep adding
thins as I find them.
Action Figures
-
Bahamut (Final Fantasy VIII;
Palisades, 2000; not released yet)
-
Blue-Eyed White Dragon (Yu-Gi-Oh;
Bandai [Japan], 1999?; comes in larger size [5"?] or 3" size as part of
a set)
-
Bronze Dragon (Advanced Dungeons
& Dragons; LJN/TSR, 1983)
-
Draco (Dragonheart; Kenner,
1996; also came in an electronic version)
-
Drageen (Mystic Knights; Bandai,
1998)
-
Dragonne (Advanced Dungeons &
Dragons; LJN/TSR, 1983)
-
The Horrid (Spawn: The Dark Ages
[Spawn 11]; McFarlane, 1998; the original is blue, the repaint is brown)
-
Kaasu of Dragon (Yu-Gi-Oh; Bandai
[Japan], 1999?; larger 5"? size, or 3" with set)
-
Lockheed (X-Men: The New Mutants;
Toy Biz, 1998; came with the Magik figure)
-
Medusa (Dragonheart; Kenner,
1996)
-
Megatron (Transformers: Beast Machines;
Hasbro, 1999)
-
Pyre (Mystic Knights; Bandai,
1998)
-
Razorthorn (Dragonheart; Kenner,
1996)
-
Tiamat (Advanced Dungeons &
Dragons; LJN/TSR, 1983)
-
Tyrune (Mystic Knights; Bandai,
1998)
In the same Medieval Knights
line from Zellers that had the centaur/minotaur, there was also
a set that came with a small green dragon. Pictured on the back (but
I haven't seen it in the store) is a larger dragon.
Other Toys
-
Amphisbaena (Monster in My Pocket [series 4]; late
1980s?; not technically a dragon, but the version in this toy line sure
looks like one)
-
Crystal Dragon (Crystar; Remco, 1983)
-
Disney's Warrior Mulan 6" action figure came with
a small non-poseable dragon. There are also stuffed versions of that
dragon and the one from Sleeping Beauty. See the McDonald's
list below for more.
-
Dragon (Monster in My Pocket [series 2]; late 1980s?)
-
Dragon of St. George. I'm not sure who makes this,
but it is a nice-looking non-poseable figure. There is also a glow-in-th-dark
dragon which may or may not be another version of the same figure.
-
Eborsisk Dragon (Willow; Tonka)
-
Fantastic World of Dragons. I don't know who makes
these, but it is a nice line of non-posable figures. It includes
Upland Forest Dragon, Polar Ice Dragon, Chapada Mesa Dragon, Abyssal Deep
Sea Dragon, Lowland Forest Dragon and Asian Snake Chinese Dragon.
-
Fisher Price has made four different dragons over the years:
the original pink one that came with the castle playset, a green non-poseable
one in 1995, a blue slightly poseable one, also in 1995, and the most recent,
a larger red dragon.
-
Great Beast (Monster in My Pocket [series 1]; late
1980s?)
-
Lava Dragon (Crystar; Remco, 1983)
-
Lego has a dragon available in various sets. It comes
in black or green, with wings of black, red or see-through bright orange.
-
Leviathan (Monster in My Pocket [series4]; late 1980s?)
-
McDonald's has had a few dragons as Happy Meal toys.
Among them are a purple dragon from Disney's Wild Kingdom, the red dragon
from Mulan, Eliott from Pete's Dragon, Malificent in dragon
form (with a pen in her tail) from Sleeping Beauty, and the bad
guys from the Mystic Knights line each came with a pieces that could
be assembled into a multicoloured, see-through dragon.
-
Playmobil has a green dragon.
-
Quest for Camelot had a stuffed two-headed dragon,
and possibly other toys as well.
-
The Starcastle toy line has a little purple dragon that pulls
a carriage. It also comes with a tiny baby dragon figure.
-
Ty Beanie Babies has three dragons in the line: Magic
is the older one, a more recent one is Scorch, and the Chinese Zodiac series had a Dragon.
I have seen many other toys than these, and will add them
as I find more information.
