We can, of course, change our faces. We regularly see ageing stars who either deny their cosmetic surgery or display it proudly like some post-modern trophy. Successful cosmetic surgery, by its very nature, goes unnoticed. There seems to be a trend however, toward visible surgery, as in the cases of those Hollywood Women who follow the fashion for the pencil nose. There are no natural noses in the world that look like these. At first glance one could be forgiven for wondering whether there is a nose there at all.
Then there's Michael Jackson. I need say no more about that.
